NutraPro cod liver oil is amazing! I was taking another brand of cod liver oil that I paid very high price for but I could only take it for one week due to strong sharp smell and taste. This one smells fresh, not fishy. Taste wonderful! I am not kidding, i was expecting fishy taste but this one taste clean, rich, and pure. It taste such a high quality oil. Our nose and taste buds are our natural tool to assess if a product is pure and healthy. I actually look forward to taking this. Just like quality sushi, you shouldn't smell fishy odor nor taste it. I researched into food supplement because winter is coming and I no longer believe supplementing vitamin D alone is good for our overall health. It's best to take nutrient in food form where there are whole nutrients working together. If you take any one vitamin alone there is risk of throwing off your balance. Based on my research, fat soluble vitamins work together like you see it in food. Anyway, I am glad I came across such a high quality and pure product that taste great. Also the price for this is amazing. You paid minimal for this high quality oil that will last a long time.

I have been consuming this product for roughly three to four years now and the quality has not diminished in the least. Prior to this product, I was taking the notorious fermented cod liver oil by GP. I was never a fan of the FCLO due to both the taste in addition to the chemical modifications (i.e., lipid peroxidation) that occurs when lipids are fermented. This CLO has been a god-send as it is minimally processed, which abates both nutritional loss and off-flavors created by heating/oxidation. In terms of effects, I started taking this to serve as a nootropic in a sense. Not only does it increase cognitive function and memory - it also keeps my skin hydrated (especially during winter) and has made my hair extremely lustrous and thick. I have spoken directly with the owner of the company on multiple accounts and he is a chemist by training. Thus, he truly understands the processing and chemical nature of this product. Overall, I could not recommend this product more.

This oil is absolutely delicious, not fishy tasting or fishy smelling at all. Best of all, it's been helping me to absorb Vitamin D better. I have the VDR Taq gene mutation that prevents me from absorbing Vitamin D well. For years I've taken lots of Vitamin D but was always deficient. At 10,000 IU daily I was just at the bottom of the range. I had so many symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency: osteopenia, hypercalcemia, depression, CFIDS, even breast cancer years ago. Low Vitamin D with hypercalcemia normally indicates hyperparathyroidism but my parathyroid tested normal.I learned that I have the VDR Taq gene mutation. My nutritionist told me that people with VDR Taq mutation need to take Vitamin A with Vitamin D to help absorption. So I added a teaspoon full of NutraPro Virgin Cod Liver Oil to my daily regimen of 20,000 IU of Seeking Health's Vitamin D drops, Carlson's Vitamin K2 (MK4) and a small amount of calcium bone builder formula. (I also take Magnesium Malate separately, before bed.)The difference since adding Virgin Cod Liver Oil has been dramatic! My Vitamin D level is finally normal. My blood calcium is normal. I have more energy with less PEM and my depression is gone! YMMV and you shouldn't take lots of Vitamin D like I do without periodic blood testing, but this has been my experience.Low Vitamin D causes bone loss because without Vitamin D the body can't absorb calcium well. Low Vitamin D causes pain, fatigue, immune system dysfunction and increases the risk of various cancers. The brain requires adequate Vitamin D to make dopamine. Low dopamine causes depression and is implicated in Parkinson's Disease and MS. New research indicates that CFIDS, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, might actually be a form of Parkinson's disease.This cod liver oil really helps with Vitamin D absorption. I highly recommend it!

I have taken Green Pastures fermented CLO, Rositas and Carlson's and NutraPro. I have never tasted a fish oil with such a pleasant, fresh tasting taste as NutraPro ever. I didn't know it was possible for fish oil to taste this pleasant (except Carlson's tastes fine too). The only fish oil that I tried that was so hideously disgusting smelling and tasting that I couldn't finish the 2 bottles I bought was Rositas. You could smell that stuff a mile away when the bottle was open. My husband couldn't take it at all and I almost threw up every time I tasted it. When I first tried NutraPro I was bracing myself for that disgusting overwhelming fish taste ready with my chasers, and I was so impressed with the freshness of this fish oil with a slight hint of mint (it doesn't taste the slightest bit fishy) that I will probably never switch to another fish oil. My husband loves it and my 3 year old will even take it without the slightest complaint. If you are trying to decide between this brand and Rositas since they are both supposed to be about equal in quality etc, I would run far away from Rositas and get this. If all the bottles taste the way mine does, you will be so impressed with this product.Edit 2/26/16: taking down from 5 to 4 stars because my 2nd bottle did not taste as fresh as the first bottle. It tastes more fishy and not as fresh. Also, I contacted the company through Amazon to make sure my bottle wasn't rancid since it tasted different than the first bottle and they never responded. It is still the best CLO I have tried taste wise and is recommended as "Best" by WAPF
