It was almost impossible to get the original head rest out - but it was in there for 14 years !! My 2011 f-350 had 2 release tabs to remove the original rest. The new assembly was pretty easy to install. It locks in place once it’s all the way in . The size of the cup holder is a joke though !!! It’s only 3/4 inch deep but there are rubber mats with little tabs to remove them for cleaning for each cutout. The extra real estate is nice in a single cab.

This one is a little more expensive than similar products, but worth it. Similar product slants forward. This is straight and strong. Easy to install with detailed instructions including pictures! Very happy with this product. Only downside would be that the sectioning walls could be taller. I understand why they are not, so you can reach across it to get to glovebox or knobs on the center controls. But I think the back sections would be fine with higher dividing walls. I am planning to modify mine.

I work out of the truck , this gives me a place to hold a note pad my phone and pens , it also works great to hold my charging cords

I’ve been using it a few months. Handy item to have. The plastic feels a bit flimsy but it’s working so far.

Piece of crap… cheap thin plastic and cup holder will barely fit anything it’s so small
