Easy Programming With A Smartphone.
I was really tired of managing morning and night pills. I saw carousel style dispensers online but the lower priced ones were downgraded because they were too difficult to program. The KLIM product looked like all the others but it was twice the price. The difference was in their software/firmware. The KLIM is controlled by a very smart iphone app. called Smart-Life (free). The app takes control of the machine. Once set up, you can easily program multiple dosage times. I take five in the morning and two at night. It utomatically gets the time of day using the app and from then on it just works! The app lets you take pills ahead of time or late. It even sends notifications to your iPhone if you forget to take the pill at the scheduled time. It is so well designed that you really don't need an instruction manual. I never look at the hard to read built in display. It's all done with the app.

Meh
Works as advertised and let's me monitor my father but battery life SUCKS. Very poor battery life. A day and a half. If they sold replacement batteries it would be nice. And the battery compartment is very large like they would be selling an extended battery pack for this thing or something but none are available. Looks like an old phone battery so I'll probably try and find a generic replacement.

Do I like the product? I own three of them.
I purchased three of them for my Mom with dementia. She lives alone and these dispensers make sure she gets her morning vitamins and evening pills. I can see on my cell phone that the alarm went off and that she got her pills. Their customer service is spectacular. I had a few questions, and they got back to me right away. I can't say enough about this pill dispenser.

Medication dispenser for person with dementia
Bought the item for my mother who has dementia to help assist in taking her medicine. It takes a minute to get used to the machine and programming. After you get used it, it is helpful with medication assistance. You can program different medications for different times that need to be taken. There are three slots per day which works for her because she takes medicine at three separate times of the day. However, if you take medicine more than three times a day at different times, it could be problematic. But I can't speak from experience on that matter. The only downside with this machine, is that the battery does not last long when it is not plugged into the charger. So we've had to keep the device plugged in to ensure that she can hear the alarm go off for her medications. However, there is a low battery alert that does go off when the battery is low.

The idea is good. The execution is terrible!
This pill dispenser simply doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. Which is to dispense pills at a specific time several times a day. Our pill dispenser keeps changing the times keeps reverting back to one hour earlier when it alerts us to take pills. Well, this is not helpful. I’d get another kind. The idea is good. The execution is terrible.

Game changer
This unit has allowed my mom to feel more independent. Her short term memory wasn’t keeping up with her medication schedule but this has really helped keep her on track.

No remote connectivity. Disappointing.
Disappointed. When I read that the unit was Wi-Fi, I falsely assumed that I would be able to see the pill information remotely. The truth is that unless you are on the same Wi-Fi as the unit, you can’t see anything. If I’m in the same home as the person, I don’t need the information. I can just go look!

Did exactly what it was intended for
Purchased for a family member with early Alzheimer’s; this made it so easy for her to keep some independence with her medications and not take too many or completely miss taking.I saw many reviews saying smaller pills slide into other sections and I have not had this occurrence to speak of and has been a month of use so far. Very easy to use once initial set up is done as she is in her late 80’s, set timers for reminders on this system, connected to the app on my phone for easy reminders, and the lock is very secure!! It comes with 2 keys in case more than one person is handling or a backup is needed (you can also purchase spare ones separately). Total set up within less than 5 minutes!! Great product and I highly recommend it!!
