Yes, this is a great towel holder. We have 2 of them. When you put them together make sure you tighten all screws

Hi It is made of arcylic, the weight of base is 3.08 lbs.

Q: can you use this out doors? By a pool?

I am using it indoors and one end butts up against a wall. Overall I am pleased with it, and my initial concern that it would become wobbly quickly has not been the case. However, it has that tendency and I think being free standing poolside would not be a good use for it.
