I am newly diagnosed with diabetes 2. I previously ordered another brand glucose monitor that came without a case. The directions in that set were printed on a paper with very tiny writing to explain how to use the monitor. There were few pictures and very brief explanations. I tried to use the test five times, but got different readings. I then was frustrated and ordered the CareLiving Blood Glucose Monitoring System. I opened the box and was thrilled! Everything was nicely packed in a sturdy, zippered bag! The set has a very nice, printed booklet explaining in detail each item in the set and exactly how to use the monitor for best results! There are many pictures and directions for each step of the process. This is one of the best users guides I have ever seen! I followed the steps and got results on the first try!

Solo colocas el brazalete, presionas un botón y en segundos tienes la lectura.Las cifras son claras y vienen acompañadas de indicadores de color que ayudan a interpretar si la presión está dentro de los rangos normales. The lancet pen gun doesn't poke far enough to draw blood. I tried all settings, and it still didn't poke far enough to make contact. I ended up having to manually poke my finger for a reading. Also, coding and setting up was a nuisance and it wasn't registering correctly but it did give me a reading normal to what I have had in past I want to return it for a different kit/kind, but I was told to send it back even though it has been around and exposed to blood samples. I feel this is unsanitary, but I will keep it because of the test strips that I can still use.

Nice packaging, monitor seems to work well regarding ease of use. No clue about accuracy at this point. The lancing device, however, is sketchy. It's possible, with minimal effort, to push the lancet too far into the device so the needle doesn't make it out of the hole when it's released. I thought the needle was too short, but when I measured it on a ruler, it's almost as long as it's possible to purchase, at least 2.0 mm, so that's when I started looking for a different problem. In order to get it to work, you have to put the lancet into the device just barely enough for it to hold. Test it by inserting the lancet, gently holding it and pushing the release, and then hold the lid up to it level with where it will be when it's screwed on and make sure the needle is projecting above where the hole is. That's how much needle will come into contact (and hopefully pierce) the skin.

When I saw that a pack of 50 test strips for my old meter were now $50 and I could get this entire set for under $20, it was a no brainer! This meter works perfectly and I love how everything including strips, lancets, and lancing device all fit in the carrying case together. I'm not sure why people were having issues with the lancing device, I had it on the 3rd lowest option and it was even a bit too deep honestly. When you are putting in a new lancet you don't have to use a ton of pressure and force it. It even clicks when it's inserted properly. Super impressed!

The glucometer works fine but the lancing device no. Comes with 12 settings and we try the 12 and it doesn't work so at the end we use the old lancing piece with the new meter device.
