The kanji is also dictated with the appropriate hiragana characters above them. I am trying to learn the characters in hiragana and katakana and reading along with the characters in the conversation phrases are helping me learn them better. I haven't really payed attention to the conversations themselves, but I think they will be helpful because they use a wide array of words and topics. Good purchase.

I have kindle version of this book. And I gotta say, I love it. They use real conversations which allows you to increase your vocabulary and your reading skills. Small tip: It's best to read the sentences out loud to get a better understanding. I also like how the sentences are first in kana/kanji then in romaji. The next page is translated into english so that you know what you just read. I like it. Nice and simple. You get 510 pgs worth of good content.

I can read enough Japanese to recognize hiragana and katakana but not the more complex kanji. So I appreciate that this book of conversation uses the kana to write the dialogs as well as kanji, which is broken down through furigana. For beginners, each dialog is also written out in romaji too. The dialog is also translated into English at the end of each chapter, which encouraged me to figure out the meaning from the Japanese alone before turning to the translation.Aside from the format, the book also proved enjoyable because of the topics of conversation, which covered such everyday activities as ordering dinner, going to the gym, or commenting on a cute dog. It's a nice change from conversation books that only cover business or travel.

Learning Japanese through stories is pretty handy I think it's quite an effective way to learn Japanese! and improve your vocab. Worth it!

This is an optimal product for learning Japanese. For beginners, it's always important to learn via audio at first which the audiobook provides. I'm also really impressed how the furigana is displayed in the paperwhite kindle. I haven't seen many products perfectly align it above the kanji like this on the display. All together, it's clear that a lot of thought and effort was put into making a high quality product for language learners.I don't write many reviews, but this stands out as a product I'm happy to do so for.

A good selection of simple conversations that reflect real world situations you might encounter... ordering in a restaurant, more casual topics that you might have with friends or when meeting someone new. Highly recommended.

Book has great content. I needed something that I could put in a pocket or carry easily and this does not fit the bill.

This is a great resource to get used to different situations and what to expect. Sometimes the hardest part about studying a language is just knowing out of all the synonyms, which is the one that is frequently used. This book does a great job letting you see common situations where different words and grammar would be used. Glad to have it!
