Orrington Farms Vegan Ham Flavored Broth Base, 6 oz.

I bought this to help flavor my white bean soup. It did its job and there's not a lot of sodium in it. Didn't I want to use cured pork.

This broth will take your vegan dishes up a notch with its delicious flavor. It tastes better than the diluted store brand stuff I used to buy. It is also far more convenient, cost effective, and less packaging waste. 10/10 for me.

Vegan broths are sometimes hard to come by and ever harder to find ones that taste good. This one tastes great and you get a good amount of it, but it can taste a bit too salty at times depending on what you're making. For soups and the such you really won't notice this much as long as you adjust your recipe and don't add any / as much salt, but for gravy it's much more noticeable. The ingredients lists says salt (includes sea salt), but honestly It tastes more like normal table salt than sea salt. 840mg sodium for 1 serving (1 cup broth) is a lot so it would be nice if they either had a no-salt / low salt variation or reduced the amount of salt overall and used only sea salt. That said, once you learn to adjust for it, the flavor makes it a pretty easy choice, but would be an even easier one if they addressed the salt issue.

I used this when making soup & it turned out great! The soup had wonderful flavor without the necessity of adding ham or a ham bone.

Great vegan sub for soups and stock. I also add to rice and other grains when cooking. Good on popcorn!

Gave my butter beans a good southern flavor. It's been 30 years since I've eaten any animal based foods ,so, I'm not the most qualified person on ham flavor but my non vegan bf commented how good it was and he's not a big fan of butter beans but he had 3 helpings. I can't wait to try it in collard greens.

Orrington Farms has changed the recipe for this seasoning. We loved using the old one. There were fewer ingredients, fewer chemicals, and it tasted better. I wish the company would go back to the original recipe.
