Good climbing rope
I am a 35 year old mom and am determined to learn how to climb a rope, hence this awesome Christmas present from my hubby! We went for this rope because of the apparent ease of hooking it up and being able to take it down to use different places (theoretically for other workout drills). The only challenge about this is that we attached it to a high rafter in our garage so that we could practice climbing. Therefore, it is too high for me to easily take down. Obviously this is a personal issue, not a problem with the rope itself. We appreciated the price point because at the time it was substantially cheaper ($45 for 20 ft) compared to similar options. My husband, 7 and 6 year old boys and I have all used this rope and have not had excessive problems with our hands getting torn up, although I'm sure this is a reflection of how much you use it! The rope seems very sturdy. It looks like it could shed a lot, but so far we have had less shedding than I anticipated. My only qualms with this rope are that I hoped it would be easier to hang up. This is more of a reflection of our own personal home set-up, not the rope itself. Mainly due to the fact that we don't have a sturdy enough hook to easily hang it from and that we want it higher than I can easily reach without a ladder. If you are a ninja warrior family in training, this rope would be a great addition to your home gym.....or if you have young boys who need to use up energy by climbing a rope in your garage during these cold winter months!

Worth the price!
Many years later, withstanding all the elements, it's still hanging and in use! I'd recommend this item.

Fantastic and versatile (15ft with carabiner)
Awesome Product and very fair price for what I received!!Jumping right in:I was highly debating adding the carabiner, but it is VERY handy and you don't have to use it if you want to loop the rope thru the hole for hanging. I found it much easier to use my 3/8ths Screw Eye Hooks (rated 250lb, 114kg) into the ceiling of my garage which holds my 180 lb (81kg) weight including dynamic loading, jumping on it, swinging... it's VERY SOLID. The rope hasn't shed much if any. I'm using it for mostly arm over arm climbing but I worked fine when using my Feet.Out of the box, there is some smell but goes away after a day. The rope is quite stiff and you hear creaking sounds, but I've only gone 15-20 rounds with it so I think that will eventually stop. I expect some stretch but that's natural in my experience climbing ropes at gyms. This does seem to be professional GYM quality. Creaking and stretch doesn't seem to be hurting anything or indicate lessened lifespan.Width is great for my hands and my kids (5 and 7), you can tie knots in the rope to change the difficulty of the workout and they are able to be un-knotted as long as you don't really jump on them to secure them, like I did when testing. Then they take much more effort to untie.I wanted a rope to add to my ninja obstacles in my garage with 12+ feet ceilings and this is PERFECT. With the Carabiner attachment it would be very quick to clip off and then transport and use for all sorts of things (battle ropes if you had 2 of them is something I plan to try!). To buy 2 ropes for $40 each would still be cheaper than buying "battle ropes" here AND you have climbing ropes too so it's like having 2 products for the price of 1 and you aren't storing 4 large items when 2 will suffice.Thank you Perantlb! great stuff

Good value
Rope delivered as listed. Functions well. It will probably have some stretch to it over time but it is coarse enough for solid grip but soft enough that isn’t uncomfortable. Used for kids to climb up into a loft beside a ladder. The only issue is the connecting D-ring doesn’t sit properly when mounted. See pic. It’s sturdy enough but the ring is too wide a “D” to keep the rope in the plastic cover. May affect long term wear. Otherwise satisfied.

Very supple, smooth easy on my soft hands.
Really easy on the hands, the rope material is pretty smooth and soft. Doesn’t leave any splinters in my hands like the one at my gym. The delivery was really fast and packaging was solid came tied up and encased in a plastic bag. It literally took me less than a minute to loop around my power rack pull up bar. I’m going to practice climbing using just my arms (no legs). Very light weight and flexible so it’s easy to take on and off and move around. It’s exactly what I was looking for not having to clip or hook it onto anything the built in loop at the top of the top is perfect for my pull-up bar. And I was looking for the classic twine colored rope, looks great in my mini home gym. It has no smell/oder, and no little pieces of rope falling off when in took it out of the box and set it up on my pull up bar.

Beautiful rope, but failed catastrophically after 2 years outside.
I hung this on a tree branch - loved it, as did the kids. But 2 years and 19 days after I bought it, it broke mid-climb. Very glad the kid wasn't too far up the rope when it happened. Could have been a hospital trip, or worse, given the length of this rope.In the attached photo, I've cut off the black plastic cover/weather proofing, to try to understand what happened. I didn't touch the rope. I understand that natural materials decay over time, but for a product advertised as "outdoor", I would expect more than 2 years of service life.
