Very powerful. It cuts as good as my Tanaka 2 stroke I bought 13 years ago that worked great but a replacement head is no longer available for. It’s nice to not bother with having 2 stroke gas on hand. I bought a cheaper Kobalt trimmer from Lowe’s a few years ago but took it back after a few minutes of trying it out. It just didn’t have the power and it used .080 line. I have 3 acres to take care of with about 20 trees.

I was originally gifted an ego blower for Christmas a few years ago and am impressed with the brand. Bought the trimmer to trim under fence lines of probably 20 acres of pasture. So far it’s been durable. Battery packs do need to be swapped out to complete the job but cutting through some serious brush. Would buy again.

This thing is awesome and surprised me with how much power it had. The reload function is really nice and it’s lite enough for your wife, mom or sister to use.Would definitely recommend safety glasses, this thing was throwing grass and rocks everywhere! The 2.5AH battery lasted around half an hour which gave me time to weedeat the perimeter of my double wide modular home with a large flowerbed on one side that became a little over grown with grass. The reload option was so nice and easy to use.I would recommend using thicker sized line (not the cheap thin line that Amazon says you should buy with this) and go with the 5AH battery if you have the coin. They make cheap Chinese knockoff batteries for around 80 bucks that would do the trick. This weedeater comes with a 5 year warranty and 3 year warranty on the battery so that’s super awesome. Would recommend this weedeater all day!

I love this trimmer! Great battery life, takes same .095 line as my gas powered, and I don't have to buy expensive, pre-made string cartridges. Has plenty of power. Not as much as my gas powered, but that is actually a good thing. It doesn't eat thru line as fast when trimming against chain link fences. Also, it is well balanced, doesn't hurt my back and arms like my gas powered. Such a great buy too! It is $20 to $30 more than other brands, but I will save that money back on string.

I will never go back to a gas trimmer after this. You can have that old 2 stroke stuff, I'm converted to electric forever. Quiet, powerful, no pulling, mixing, smells, or carburetor hassles. Make your life better and get one of these. In my case, the battery will do what I need it to do. Which probably 30-45 minutes of continuous use. If I run out, I throw it on the charger and mow for a while. It will charge in under an hour with the charges it comes with. If you have a rapid charger that came with a mower or something like that, the 2.5 can charge in about 30 minutes.

I am disappointed to report that the battery with this trimmer started to leak black oil the 5th time it was used. I contacted EGO customer service. After sending photos and reviewing the defect, I was told to remove the product id number and dispose of the battery. EGO was going to send me a replacement battery under warranty. EGO told me the battery was defective. The next day, EGO said they would not send me the replacement battery because I had violated their warranty policy. I had previous applied for warranty coverage and was approved for warrant coverage. I was told, " BECAUSE I PURCHASED FROM AMAZON, AND THE DEALER AMAZON USED WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, THIS VIOLATED THE WARRANT POLICY". I had no way of knowing that Amazon's third party dealer was not an authorized dealer. I didn't even think the battery was defective. I asked them if it could be used. They said it was defective. Great news. So the customer loses warranty coverage due to an issue he has not control or knowledge of? I wrote back to EGO and told them that if a negative review, from a previous satisfied customer, my decision not to buy other EGO products, and my decision to tell family and friends that EGO doesn't honor their warranty policy for defective products after initially say the would, if all of that is less value than the cost of a replacement battery, THEN DON'T SEND THE REPLACEMENT. I asked EGO to review this incident with they QUALITY department and see if this is good policy? This hardly meets the defenition of " meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of customers first time, on time, every time". Good luck to EGO. They lost a valuable customer. I suspect it is not the first or last time this will happen.

This was the best weed wacker that I have ever used. It was so easy to weed whack the grass. The weeds you can go with high or low speeds and cut everything. I only used a little bit just to see how it is but I love it and I will be keeping this

Oh ! My !! Gosh !!Performance, Power, Ease of using unit is very well thought out. The motor has plenty of power to take down Large Thistle and Field Grass as I know it.Would recommend it to anyone who has had enough of the mixing the gas and oil. The noise and smell from a two cycle motor.If this unit won’t clear out your back yard, you might need to look into A Brush Mower.
