I've used this one for the last two years and absolutely love it. The multiple microphones have amazing pickup quality, so I can easily keep this in my pocket and record myself and my surroundings. Because of the simple display, the battery lasts ages.

The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?:I am about a year and a half in using this particular recorder. I bought it with the specific intention to record wedding ceremonies directly out of my speaker's mix out. These are my findings. First, the internal microphone really isn't very good. It has a very low threshold of volume before it starts to clip. This wasn't an issue for me, but for people who plan to use it for recording anything over speech volume you may not like the quality of sound. If recording live music don't even bother.The real allure to me was the line in option. I run from the mix out out of my speaker, XLR, into the line in of the recorder. Now, what I have found is it also suffers from clipping in this regard if you boost over 0db. This has caused a number of recordings to be heavily clipped despite the live audio being perfect.Another issue I found is the power button can bypass the lock, meaning you can turn the device on and off with the lock on.If we could fix these this would be the perfect recorder, easily competing with models that are $300 or more due to size and price. The clipping issue could be as simple as a firmware update to add gain control, assuming the hardware allows it.One thing I did also notice is that if you are recording into this from a stereo signal you are going to have some phase cancellation, which may make your recording sound very quiet or even remove frequencies. The solution to this is simple: import into any DAW and pan either left or right to convert the track to mono. Not a fault, but a standard concept in audio - mono vs stereo - to be aware of.I really like this recorder. The battery lasts a considerably long time, being able to use a standard microSD card means that moving files from the device to other systems is straightforward regardless of platform, and the metal body is actually pretty rugged.For the majority of buyers this is going to be a total win, but the combination of deficiencies, namely the easily clipping from the internal mic, deducts one star.

Good product. In the 'Menu', in the 'Save Position' setting, I set mine to the FT (Micro Card) option to bypass the FLASH storage space. The FLASH is the Devices' own built in Storage Space. The FLASH holds 7.82 actual gigabytes of storage space. If the user decides to 'Save Position' to the FLASH, the 7.82GB FLASH storage space fills up, this device will automatically start saving all digital voice recording data to the FT (Micro Card) storage space, located in the Card slot even if FLASH is selected in seting 'Save Position'. The FT (Micro Card) has 116 actual gigabytes of storage space. The AVR (Auto Voice Record) Mode option will not show or display time of individual AVR recordings. Only 1 (clock)time of the day is displayed. This (clock) time of AVR Mode recording, will be shown on the screen to show [when] the user began the AVR (Automatic Voice Record) after depressing the 'REC' button. Be sure to set the sensitivity of voice this device can pick up. Test by talking at various distances at normal peaceful talking. Setting level 1, is the least bit sensitive. Level 1 will pick up sound up to approximately 15 feet away from this device. Level 5 may sence (30) feet away (Indoors) from this device. Give the device one test of sound recording, then connect to the computer, and you will see a folder named 'RECORD'. RECORD folder will have all recordings. The FT storage and FLASH (Micro Card) storage can be easily dragged to the Computer or by 'Copy and Paste' or 'Cut and Paste'. Decide to use .WAV or .MP3. Go through all Settings. 3/April/2025.

Sound quality, easy of use size perfect for any task in office or at home

I ordered this in October of 2023, but did not attempt to use it until about a month ago (May 2025). I made 2 recordings and downloaded them to my computer. I then deleted the recordings. I tried to make a new recording but wss told "memory full." I tried to find the recordings thinking I did not properly delete them, but told "no voice recordings." tried to troubleshoot but found the directions that came with the item were for a different version of E-36. Same for any directions I found online. Buttons are different. I pushed the "reset" button and "factory settings" choice with no change. I can't use the device. Went to company website and pushed "get help" buto and nothing happens. Sorry I bought it.
