Starter Set

Some of my reluctant students loved using these to help them write poetry. I only wish the booster set was available on Amazon also.

As an Instructional Coach in high school, I am always looking for resources that help teachers do their jobs better and bring learning to life in new ways in the classroom. I was ecstatic to get my set of dice for use in our classrooms. We have already used these dice sets in English classrooms as creative writing idea generators, creative activities to end the week, and tools of self reflection and journaling.I am not a writing teacher by training, I am a social studies teacher; but I know the power of tools that aid in sparking the creative process and this is a great example of that. I am excited to see what these dice can do for all of our ELA students when our teachers get more sets in their hands!Thank you Taylor Mali for this great tool!

This gamified poetry writing in the best ways. My students produced creative, unique poems within 15 minutes!

I use this game to teach simile and metaphor every time I teach poetry to kids or adults or do a workshop. So glad I have these dice that are fun and hands-on!

As a teacher I am a huge fan of Taylor Maki and use his poetry in class often. When I saw these in his social media I was so pumped! These dice are amazing and help students write without making the task seem boring or a chore! I plan on ordering more sets for small groups for next year!

I like them... it's a fun concept, and it helps the kids come up with some great stuff... but $20??? Each die is more than $1? That seems excessive... it's not REALLY a game as much as it is a tool.I like to use them in my classroom, but I need several sets. In reality, I'd like to have them for every student... but then I'd have to buy 6 of these boxes...The margin of profit on these things must be huge. I guess I'll just make them with paper that they pull instead... or create my own paper dice. I wish they were half the price...
