easy to use
The crimper worked very well for a long time. My project was much bigger than this item was designed for. I needed to crimp over 1000 times but after about 800 the unit failed. Amazon sent me another one so I could finish my project.

Disaster
This thing is an absolute piece of garbage. I had about 80 crimps to do and I had to continuously re-crimp because the cable would start to pull out when I would try to tension the cables. When the tool would get within about a 16th of an inch every pump, you could see the piston push out and then immediately retract and never would compress the dies all the way. I have ordered the Blika tool now and crossing my fingers it works. I’m outside of my return window because I bought the material ahead of time and just now got around to it due to a surgery. Do not waste your money on this.

Worked best for me
I don’t recommend trying to save a few bucks here. Some of the other crimpers don’t work well for stainless steel. This job is kind of a p.i.a, tbh, and this particular crimper, being the second one I bought, worked significantly better than the other one I tried.

THIS REALLY WORKS AND IT IS THE BEST OPTION
Definitely a MUST HAVE if you're installing crimp-on stainless cable anchors. YOU NEED THIS. It worked perfectly for 82 crimps. On the 83rd, it snapped. My recommendation was five stars but I'm bumping it down to four because it broke. It really does work great, I'm disappointed it broke but it got the job done.

Not for small or weak hands
I don't know which terminals this tool was designed to work with, but the terminals I bought (DasMarine) were just a little too big for the small die, and wouldn't close completely. It took three crimps on each to ensure the cable wouldn't pull out under tension (had a learning experience there).I swiveled the jaws around to face the handle, that way I could put the tool on the deck and use my body weight on it to get a maximum crimp. You need also to ensure that the valve knob is REALLY tight, otherwise it won't achieve the required pressure. It took some practice, some tweaking, and a few failures to get to where I could make reliable crimps. My first deck had over 50 terminals, so I got pretty good at it by the end.On the plus side, this tool makes much neater-looking crimps than the manual lever-type crimper, and once you're past the steep part of the learning curve, it goes pretty quickly. On the negative side, it takes a lot more muscle than the "45-ton" designation would lead you to expect. Also, the first crimper I bought broke after only 20 crimps, and I had to order a replacement.Alas, if you do an internet search, you'll find this item is the only hydraulic hand swager on the market (for less than $500 that is), so there you are. I was hoping for a tool I could add to my toolbox for many years to come but I didn't get that. I still have it, but I need to find a better way for the next deck...(One quirky little thing here - the tool comes with an O-ring replacement kit, that's good, - and a pair of knitted gloves that I guess are supposed to keep you from getting blisters while using it. But the thing is, the gloves are so small that anyone they fit would be unable to reach their hands around the handle to squeeze it!)

Almost perfect!
This crimper does the job well. The dies occasionally get stuck to the swag and seperate from the tool. They need to have a retainer added to keep them in place. They also occasionally will shift so they aren’t perfectly aligned. It crimps even and doesn’t distort the insert so it stays straight. The release knob takes a bit of torque to tighten and release.Overall it does what it’s supposed to do.

Works well and needed for wire railing
This is easy to operate and easily crimps the fittings for wire railing. It came with 1/8" die set but I wish it came with other sizes too.I did double crimps on all of my fittings just to be sure. It's nice to have the case too for storage.
