BUY!!!!
If you are trying to teach your child how to ride a bike, BUY THIS! I honestly thought my daughter would never learn how to ride a bike. We tried everything - different size bikes, pads head to toe, tying a scarf around her body while holding handlebars, etc. Year after year we were determined and she was too scared. Finally this year I found this Balance Buddy on Amazon and decided to give it a try. She was riding on her own the same day!!!! It's so easy to hold onto and help your child balance - I just cannot find enough words for how simple and yet amazing this product is!

15 minutes with this...that’s it!
My daughter started with training wheels and understood the mechanics of bike operation before they were removed. All the sudden she lost all experience she had previously gained. I was lost! Basically felt like we were starting all over again with the steering, pedaling, and encouraging. Running up and down the street...back and forth, back and forth bent over holding the underside of her seat. I am 6’ tall and my back was killing me. Next day at work i thought of rigging something to the back of her seat so i could run with her upright but thought...maybe there is already something built that would assist. Sure enough the balance buddy was what i had been looking for. Only took 15 minutes to install (because i am slow). This only served as a mental reassurance for my daughter but a back saver for me. She was riding like a pro and all on her own in a little less than 15 minutes. Hmmm...took me the same amout of time to install. Still brand spanking new but well worth the purchase. I will pass it on to a friend that has children that hasn’t started their journey in bike riding. Should have known about this earlier. I highly recommend. For the price i thought it would be thin gauge metal and bend on the first try...nope! Built well and mounts to rear wheel nuts.

Another lower back saved by this gizmo!
What a back saver! Previously, I was half bent-over, holding onto my kid's seat as I ran behind him. My back was aching by the time we were done with the learning session, so I went straight to the computer and bought this!Like others have written, it gets loose no matter how much you tighten it, so you will want to bring the wrench with you when you ride.Running straight up, I was able to keep up with my son easily as he learned to ride, gradually taking my hand away from the Balance Buddy and stay MUCH more patient with his learning process. I'm very glad to have bought this. We're almost there!

saved my back and facilitated learning
The Balance Buddy is easy to install and works great. It made a huge difference in my daughter learning to ride and it saved my back. There’s no need to spend more money on a similar product when this one works so good at such a low price. Yes it moves a bit regardless of how much you tighten it but that’s helpful and not a hindrance because you can adjust position on the fly.

Quick, easy and worth every penny!!!
This bar is legit and really works quickly! From the time we put this on, my 5yo was riding by herself within 2 weeks. It really helps them feel the wobble of the bike (to learn their balance) that training wheels prevent. It's so ridiculous to turn sloped corners with training wheels since they tip over, which there are many in our neighborhood. This bar gives kids the confidence to know you're right behind them, but that they are feeling the bike naturally as they find their balance. I highly recommend. Passing it along to a friend with 3 kids who can use this over the years!

Riding in ten minutes...
Wow. I put in about four hours over two weeks trying to teach my daughter to ride with no luck. Today was different and it went like this...I put the Balance Buddy on her pedal bike then took her to an empty elementary school parking. In addition to her pedal bike I brought her balance bike. She rode her balance bike for a half hour alongside dad on his bike before getting tired. She then said she wanted to try her pedal bike again. I put her on the bike then pushed her with the Balance Buddy and continued to push her with the balance buddy after she got some momentum. This didn't work. Then I decided to give her a push to get started and then placed my hands outside of the Balance Buddy but not actually touching it unless she was tipping over. It worked! In ten minutes she was riding. She still has trouble pushing off on her own but considering that she is only four that is understandable. This is worth every penny of the $19.99 I paid.

After removing our daughters training wheels, I spent several afternoons trying to help her balance by holding the back of the seat on her tiny bike. I had to jog while hunched over, holding her up as we went. Needless to say, each session didn't last long due to the akwardness and strain it put on my back. I found the Balance Buddy device on Amazon and ordered one. It was money well spent. I installed the handle and it made the task much easier and more comfortable. I was able to jog along in a comfortable position while helping her balance. We were able to practice for longer periods of time over longer distances, and after a couple of days she was off and riding on her own!The only reason I didn't give the device 5 stars is because it came loose easily if I tried to push. I had to retighten it several times. It works fine for helping support balance, but I had to be careful about pushing if the rider isn't pedaling.

YOU NEED THIS!
We tried for years to get my daughter to ride her bike, but between he small bike and my tall body, my back was not up for the task. Running carefully alongside your offspring while crunched over and leaning to the side to hold on to their seat or (worse) handlebars is so punishing on the body. I simply could not last long enough for my daughter to get in enough practice time. When I saw this thing on Amazon, given the low price (especially compared to a week of Bike Camp), I had to have it! Sure enough, it only took three days (about an hour per day) for my daughter to be riding completely on her own. The handle attaches where the rear wheel is held onto the frame, and it comes up high enough to easily hold on without stooping over. It isn’t that helpful for pushing, as it can swivel forward and backward; rather it helps you stabilize the bike side-to-side. So worth the money! Thank you, whoever invented this simple, elegant device!
