Great tasting, convenient bacon without the mess cooking.
Perhaps it’s made for survival rations but it is very good bacon that is great for everyday use. I take it camping and to picnics to make a BLT sandwiches. There is a large amount of bacon on the can, enough for a dozen sandwiches. It tastes fresh and I eat it cold or 15 seconds in the microwave. Either way, it’s delicious.

Pre-cooked, tasty, and well packaged. Good for survival / camping. Expensive per net weight.
This product and the bacon tastes pretty good even eaten straight out of the can (comes pre-cooked). Have made a few meals with it already, such as BLTs, which also tasted good. Upon initially opening the can I thought the bacon was packed in fat, but after removing it quickly becomes clear it is paper (sort of like cooking parchment paper). The paper is layered in several sheets with several pieces of bacon sandwiched between sheets on each layer. I expected the bacon to sort of just be crammed in the can, so this was a pleasant surprise and creative way of packaging.I would not recommend buying this for everyday cooking, unless you really don't like heating up bacon, but it definitely has its uses for outdoor events, camping, or survival preparation. My only real complaint is the cost. Per net weight of bacon, you are paying a significant premium to have it pre-cooked and packaged in this manner. I would expect precooked shelf stable food to cost more in this case, but the premium is higher than I am comfortable with. For only being 12 ounces though I did feel like there was more bacon overall than I expected. May partly be due to the fact that the bacon is already pre-cooked (which often causes some loss) which somewhat compensates. So overall a good tasting product that fits a niche need with good packaging. Minus one star for the value provided, however still a good buy if you have a specific need for pre-cooked shelf-stable bacon. Overall, would recommend it!

After tasting this bacon, I never would have dreamed it came out of a can already cooked
Review for: Werling Canned BaconI wasn’t sure what to expect with 'canned bacon', but this product turned out to be surprisingly good! The bacon is fully cooked and ready to eat right out of the can - which makes it incredibly convenient for camping, emergencies, or just cutting down on prep and cleanup. It comes layered between sheets of parchment-style paper, not floating in fat as I initially feared, and the amount inside is generous, enough for several sandwiches or to add to multiple meals. The flavor is smoky and salty, just like traditional bacon, though the slices are on the thinner side and slightly drier than freshly cooked strips. It crisps up nicely with a quick zap in the microwave, but it's also tasty eaten cold. While it's definitely pricier than cooking your own bacon, the extended shelf life and mess-free packaging make it worth it for specific uses. It’s not something I’d use every day, but it’s perfect to keep on hand for outdoor trips or as a backup pantry item.

Novel, but does not taste like fresh.
Bacon in a can!? BACON IN CAN!Come one, come all, it's BACON IN A CAAAAAAAAAAN!!When I opened this, I was immediately... discouraged. I couldn't even tell what I was looking at. All the bacon is wrapped up in paper, but it just looked like can of lard, so I was very confused how I was supposed to get it out of the can. I tried shoving my fingers down in there but the bacon kept breaking off when I tried to pull out a piece. It felt like if I were cooking it, I'd have to cook it ALL. Doesn't feel like a multi-use container. If I pull it all out, I'm, what? Going to roll it back up and shove it back in the can? Once I got it out, I realized all the fat congealed at the top, leaving the bacon kind of dry.I like how novel it is. If I didn't have access to a refrigerator, I think it would be nice, also—camping, but I think I'd prefer resealable packages.Smelled like bacon, tasted like bacon, but it was thin and not as juicy as I was expecting.
