Made this purchase to keep my ice maker clean and always ready to go. I have had ice makers previously that were difficult to clean and always ended up requiring special cleaning methods to reach some areas, making it such a pain. I recently grabbed a sonic ice maker and it sits on a counter top constantly running, always being refilled with filtered water. After about 2 months of running straight, I noticed yellowy orange colored stains forming, which usually means it's time to clean. Well let me tell you... this product made it a lot easier!I ended up running 1 cycle with the first tablet, then 2 subsequent cycles to flush out any extra nasty stuff. I had a tank full of mold floating in the water! I drained the tank each time the cycle was completed. I threw in a 2nd tablet to get the job done and after 3 or 4 more water cleaning cycles, the system appeared to be clear water, and I was able to wipe clean all the nasty coloring in the tank. The ice started coming out clear and it did taste different, but in a good way.This product does a great job of breaking down the unseen hard water and mold that builds up inside the water linea. It is a very effective product, well worth the money and I definitely plan to purchase again when needed. I also grabbed their coffee maker cleaning tabs and can't wait to use them!

This works so good in my portable ice maker it was black on the inside and I was trying to figure out a way to clean it in my roommate sent me a link to this product and within 24 hours it looked pristine and brand new and ice taste perfect now with portable ice makers I suggest you run it through at least four or five times to get all the chemicals out before ingesting ice

I have a counter top ice machine (almost 2 yrs old) and live in a home with very hard well water.
