Stainless Steel 12V Car/RV/Marine Battery Box - Black Battery Relocation Kit for Trailer, Boat, Trolling Motor (27 Series)

The media could not be loaded. My trunk space is tight so I needed a box that is durable, occupy the least amount of space, has the best potential to be as sealed as possible. I did do a lot of modifications to make my battery of choice work to mount and secure, and improved sealing. This box is very strong. I tried to drill into it and had a very hard time because the metal and paint is so tough. I ditched the drill bits for rotory burr set on a dremel. Because battery boxes are tall, I installed hinges to tilt it so I can easily service. My issue with the box is the lid latch. The rivets are loose, so the hook on the lid kind of jiggle. If they mounted the locking latch just slightly lower on the box, then the lid will feel tighter on the box. Our only solution for a tight seal, might be to buy a D shaped adhesive backed door jam seal and apply it onto the inside of the lid. I did a lot of work modifying it to my needs. For the price and features that come with this box, it is a bargain. Advice- if you’re cutting the holes in the grommet for the wire, cut the hole smaller than the wire.

This is one excellent protective battery containment box! It is well made and high quality throughout with regard to its design and construction and was the perfect size and fit for my particular application. I like the functionality of the latch which secures the lid in place but allows for easy access, and I also like that several options are available to use for wire routing. In my opinion, I think this unit is a good value at this price point. Therefore, this product receives the top five star ranking and recommendation from me all the way!

I ordered this battery box to build a portable solar generator. The box fits my 100Ah LiFePO4 battery well with some room to spare on the sides and top. The construction of the box is solid and well made and the black coating is even and looks great. There isn't much assembly required other than putting on the feet and brackets if desired. Overall it's a very nice battery box.

It work well for keeping the battery from elements. It’s tight the space and thing metal. Use it for top post battery, no for side posts.Or you can use it for your trailer electrical system.

First thing I noticed was it had been scratched on the front prior to boxing up and they touched it up with a magic marker. I'm glad they took the effort to try to fix it but it brings to question how thick the coating is on the box. Next thing I notice is that the only thing that is stainless steel is the box itself. The handles, the latches, and the hardware included are all of ferrous metal and magnetic. This will make them prone to rusting and corrosion especially if the box is installed on a boat that will be used in saltwater environments. The box does have nice grommets that can be sized to your wire diameter. There are also feet and brackets included for mounting to the bottom of the boat.

This is a great box. The lid is held by two opposing latches, not a great design but will keep it from bouncing off. Probably splash resistant, but no seal. I think it is stainless, at least it's non magnetic, but the largest and handles are. The latches and handles are spring loaded, with is nice. Just check the dimensions to make sure your battery will fit through the opening. I suggest lithium or SLA to avoid acid. There are several mounting options included. Might be a nicer box for other uses besides batteries too.
