Compact and quiet

While traveling for work, I left my Logitech mouse behind, which was part of a mouse/keyboard combo. I found this set, which seemed ideal because it is compact and stylish. It took some adjusting to the keyboard being smaller than my old one (just in general, the keys themselves seem about right), and I've noticed a few differences to what I'm used to. First, the end button is now an alternate with the '1' key on the 10 key pad. This isn't the most intuitive for me as I'm used to it being it's own key by the backspace button. I do like that the function keys are alternates, because let's face it, generally you use those less than you do volume buttons, print screen, etc. The keyboard also has little grips on the bottom so it doesn't slide around on you. I'm on day 3 of using it and really like it. I also think it's cool that the keyboard goes into sleep mode after 3 seconds of not using, to save battery. You don't notice it because as soon as you start typing it wakes up and gets to work. The keyboard is also quieter than the Logitech one I've used for 4 years (I tend to be a loud typer). Today is day 3 of using it, and I haven't had to charge yet since I initially charged it for a couple hours when it was delivered. As for the mouse, it took some adjusting to have a flatter mouse rather than one taller and more curved to your hand, but I really like it. Also, the audible click is essentially nonexistent, which threw me off the first time I used it, but I actually really like that feature, because it can get annoying to constantly hear a click of the mouse. The mouse also goes to sleep after awhile, and sometimes when you start to use it, the pointer is missing. You can just click a button on the mouse and it wakes up and you're ready to go. I also like that the scroll wheel is clickable, and automatically opens up what you're clicking on in a new tab - that's a cool feature and one I will use SO much, because I tend to open a LOT of things throughout the day in a new tab, and I've always had to right click and tell it to open in a new tab. Now I just have to train myself to click the wheel. Overall, I like the set, and enjoy using it.

Priced High for What You Receive / Possibly Worth It.

I wanted to see if I could type on this keyboard or if I should send it back for something bigger. I really like the design of it and the color as well, however, I’m not sure it’s the easiest keyboard to type on since the keys are nearly flush with the board. Although, that is the reason I purchased it, because I love the way it looks. It’s streamline and clean looking, simple & takes up little space on my small desk, but, is it truly user friendly and does it function like that of a full size keyboard. That is the question at the root of my testing. Now I’m not an electronic aficionado, especially when it comes to computer technology and accessories. As a matter of fact, I may have spent $90 on an accessory that may be nothing more than a USB hub, thinking it was a way to dock my laptop in order to use my new monitor with it, so I won’t have a technical aspect to this test. I am simply sitting here typing this gibberish so I can get a feel of the keyboard and keystrokes to determine if I can use this fashionably thin product or not. The answer to this is yes. Yes I can, and it actually feels really good using it. The keys are soft and responsive, easy to access and very pleasant to type on. Now for the numeric & alphanumeric test. I mean, why buy a keyboard with a 10 key on it if you don’t intend to use it right? This test may be a little more tricky as I don’t usually write gibberish that includes #’s or alphanumeric characters. So 1 w1ll 1ntent1onally r3place l3tters w1th #’s 1n ord3r to typ3 1n an alphanum3er1c f0rm. Th1s has prov3n t0 be v3ry d1ff1cult. N0t b3caus3 the #’s ar3 hard to typ3, but b3caus3 my bra1n has to th1nk so hard to d3t3rm1n3 what l3tt3rs 1 can r3plac3 with #’s. 1 suppos3 an 3as13r way w0uld b3 to typ3 a s3r13s 0f #’s such as a ph0n3 #. S0, h3r3 1t g03s. 917-458-1321, 304-528-6574, L-4516, 78.502DL, $1,000,000,000.00. That was much easier.I’m unable to test the mouse at this time because I have no working AAA batteries and there were none included in the box, however, it does feel good in the hand, but very light weight and cheap without the weight of the batteries in it. It’s very basic, but that in a way adds to the allure of the simple streamlined look and feel of this keyboard and mouse. Alas! I have found some batteries. The mouse has a nice feel to it once the batteries have been inserted and the clicking of it is very nice and quiet. It moves about the desk very smoothly without a mouse-pad, and the click wheel is smooth and responsive. I actually like that’s a low profile, slim mouse because my wrist feels flush with it, and I feel that this would eliminate wrist pain from extended use.In my budget consumer opinion, with no valid electronic knowledge to back it up, I would have to say, that although this keyboard feels good, it’s isn’t worth the $38.99 sticker price.I would of liked to have had back lighting of the keys & a mouse that includes some starter batteries with it for the price they are asking. I have bought a smaller version of this style keyboard (same size of the alpha keys, no 10 key) for $24 that has a multi-color changeable back-lit keyboard, bluetooth connection and it also charges the same way. I have a $15 mouse from a local store that has served me just fine.In conclusion to this very unsophisticated test of typing gibberish as it appears in my mind (no filter that is). I have decided that spending an additional $38.99 on a product that only has a few quality features (white in color, 10 key, lowpro mouse) that I don’t already have, on the items I already own, I find myself in a dilemma. I cannot justify keeping it based on the price vs what you are getting for it, yet I like it so I want to be able to justify keeping it because of the following; It’s a nice keyboard, that's simple in design, easy to type on, easy to use, responsive, feels & looks beautiful while making the desk look much cleaner and brighter in it’s beautiful white & silver color. I also like the lowpro, slimline matching mouse as well. That being said, I do feel it’s overpriced for what you are actually receiving, and being a budget consumer, I would have rather paid $28.99 for it. So I will have to decide if it is worth keeping because I like it and not out of a need for what it offers.I was not intending to write a review, I was simply babbling gibberish in order to test this item out, however, it seems I have unintentionally babbled a review and thus must share it for the masses of budget consumers such as myself. We all have different needs and intentions for what we purchase, and this gibberish should be taken with a grain of salt.If you’re looking for something that is beautiful, slimline, functional, easy to use, comfortable (I have short stubby fingers) and makes your desk look clean, clutter free and bright, while possibly eliminating your wrist pain, and you’re willing to pay $10 more than it’s actually worth to have it. This is your item right here. Hell, I think I may keep it just for all the reasons stated above, and forget about trying to justify it, because it looks great and I really wanted a white one to brighten up a dark corner desk. I suppose I can use a small lamp to see the keys in the dark.Thank you for reading my babble of a review. I hope it helps.Photos will show the difference between the 2 slimline keyboards I have & the difference in the 2 mice. You can see how slimline the mouse is in comparison.
