I recommend this player. Versatile and well made. This was a great replacement for my aging Apple Classic iPod. A few observations.MENU: The menu system takes a while to figure out and be comfortable with.CARD STORAGE: I have 8,000 songs loaded on a memory card. I did not use the OTG feature. Note: The player relies on the memory card for storage. There is no onboard storage on the player itself. I needed a memory card reader to load files on the card from my PC. Don't lose the card unless you have a spare!LOOP WHEEL: Not as easy to operate as the click wheel on my iPod Classic. It takes a little more pressure to engage.REPEAT ALL: Function works well for songs, albums and artists. Hard to figure out how to do until I read the FAQ,SOUND QUALITY: Very good. I have both FLAC and AAC files loaded. Both sounded great. I have picky hearing. AAC sounded surprisingly good. I used a $20 pair of headphones. Never felt the need for a more expensive pair. Sound can be adjusted with an equalizer, replay gain, low/high gain adjustments. The unit also doubles as a DAC for your PC. Very nice!BUILD QUALITY: Excellent. Surprisingly hefty for its size.

For the longest time, I've used cheapo MP3 players and a Shuffle when doing the active lifestyle bit. They obviously don't carry the same sound quality as my home audio setup. For on-the-go purposes, I was content with the combo of the Shuffle or MP3 players and my Sennheisers, until I had to replace them. I needed something small, and something rugged, and this HIFI WALKER HX Sport looked like it fit the bill. The unit itself has weight to it, and has a good solid feel to it (the shell is metal, and has good ergonomic placement of buttons from the volume scroll to the front face physical buttons. So far so good. Connecting it to the computer and downloading songs (drag & drop songs into the unit's folder) was pretty painless. I've always like this method better than having to use the cumbersome iTunes program for the Shuffle. So far so good x 2. But what really set this unit apart from any other player that I've used was the sound that it produced. High-end, studio quality sound with the clarity and oomph that will make you really appreciate what this little guy can do. I can hear facets of my old songs that were there before when using the Shuffle or other portable players. It also produces excellent lows and bass, good ambiance, sharp treble, and quite frankly, it just sounds like a million bucks for the price and size. No, seriously. I also like the screen the way it is -- it's simple, easy to use, and it's retro in a great way. Battery life is very good (I've typically used it on a daily basis in 2 hour listening sessions, at least three times a day and I haven't had a need to recharge until a day or two later). I'm pretty pleased with this DAP, and this has been one of my better purchases.

This is a great DAP. I was looking for something to sort of replace my old iPod, that I sadly don't have anymore. I went looking for an audio player, nothing more, nothing less. No camera, no YouTube, no games, no Facebook, no distractions, nothing else. Just an audio player. I didn't want to spend hundreds for a player like the Astell&Kern players, although, maybe some day. For now, this fits the bill. Warm sound with a Burr Brown DAC, plenty of power for my Sennheiser 600's. It's a lot smaller than expected, and has a little bit of heft to it. Plenty of features, including a 10 band EQ. It sorts files by artist, album, genre, etc. However, there's no way to have it sort by album artist, so my compilation albums are sorted by each individual artist instead of the album artist for the whole album. However, you can search by folder. I found this to be the walkaround. The firmware is stable, however, very dated feeling. But it works. Bluetooth works fine as I have connected it to be B&W PX7's and my Sony A/V receiver. Haven't used it as a DAC, as I have other options for that. Sadly, no support for ALAC files. There is a screen protector film on the back of the unit, but not the screen. However, there are some available on Amazon. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Music and nothing else. No risk of having my iPhone ring while I'm streaming music to my AV receiver, or have the random notification bell ring when I get a text. I do wish, though, that there was a form fitted leather or silicone case available. It's fingerprint central. Only for the couple drawbacks mentioned, I gave 4 stars. Without those drawbacks, it's a full 5 stars.

When Apple stopped producing the iPod Shuffle, I didn’t think finding a sweat-proof, clip style DAP would be so daunting but it is. This one was number four on my list and I thought/hoped this was going to be the one. It’s not.It feels heftier than a Shuffle, so I thought it might be more durable, but it stopped working after almost 6 weeks of use. I used it solely for workouts, which I do for about an hour 5-6 times/week. I clipped it to the front of my shirt and went. The player has visible seams which could theoretically have allowed sweat to seep in - and I sweat a lot - so there were potential for water damage. Also, the player had been exposed to the up/down impact of aerobic activity. During the rest of my week when it was not in use (96% of the time) it sat on my desk.I reached out to the company last week and I haven’t received a reply. I tried to leave a (poor) review on their website but conveniently it wouldn’t upload.The company clearly put thought into the player’s concept: the sound is phenomenal; it supports a variety of files, it supports Bluetooth technology, and it’s easy to upload content (just drag and drop). They just need to work on durability. And customer care.Update: I was able to return the faulty player through Amazon, and they replaced it. Player number two lasted 22 days which Amazon understandably did not replace. When that happened - sometime at the end of February- I once again emailed the company. As of April, I still haven’t heard back from them.
