The images are GREAT
This is more than a counting book... This book transports kids to another world and unlocks their imagination. The images are GREAT and very true to real life animals in the sea. I feel it would motivate kids to want to learn more about science particularly biology and aquariums. The following scenes are included:- On the Farm.- On Safari - obviously Africa.- In the Desert - appears to be Arizona.- In the Arctic.- In the Wood - appear to be England or Europe.- In the Ocean - contains corals so probably tropical. This image is not included in the 1001 Things to Spot in the Sea.- In the Rainforest - appears to be South American.- In the Garden - could be nearly anywhere in North America and Possibly Europe... wherever there are starlings.- In the Outback - obviously Australia.- In the Swamp - possibly Florida?.- In the Mountains - possibly Asia where the pikas live.- By the Sea - possibly the Alaskan Coastline where puffins live.- Children's Farm - petting zoo with even camels and peacocks.Usage: Count the animals and objects shown on the edge of the picture. Find the artist drawing the scene in each picture. After completing the entire book, find the 12 other creatures listed on page 30. Find the other 12 animals from only a close up image of an important part of their identification like a horn shape or stripes.Overall, I believe kids are going to enjoy looking at the images even more than counting the objects in them.

Good learning tool and kids love it
Perfect for kids 3 to 8. I’ve bought three in this series and each was a hit.

Good learning tool for the kids that is fun for them too.
The UsBorne books are great. We have 3-4 and the kids go over them - again, and again... and again.

Big hit for Christmas
Our son loved the 1001 Monsters to Spot book, so we were looking for something similar. After reading all the reviews, I went with this one and it was a big hit (though I think the Monsters one is a bit more challenging and cuter...but he loves both of them)

1001 Animals to Spot
It is very good. I think the animals are a little more obscure than the 1001 Things to Spot on the Farm, however.

Hours of entertainment
Lovely book with detailed pictures. Great for all ages. Bought to entertain my 2 year old on a plane. He loves pointing out the different animals and talking about them. God for older children too as it includes numbers and finding the animals on each page.

Fantastic book with beautiful illustrations.
These 1001 books are fantastic, the illustration is wonderful and my 4 year old loves them, (we have 1001 fairyland and 1001 Christmas), I have also bought these books as birthday and Christmas presents, which i am told have been very popular too.
