I like these a lot.
I do a lot of walking and I've bought perhaps 8 pairs of these. Each pair tends to last about 650 - 700 miles before the sole gets too thin. To date I've never worn out the uppers. Generally each pair has been waterproof but with the type of walking I do it's east for sharp items to penetrate the outer cover and cause leaks. What don't I like about them? The laces, the metal hooks do tend to take their wear and tear on the laces and it's not unknown for me to be on my third pair of laces before replacing the shoes and I do find that irritating. However, the shoes are very durable, support my feet and ankle well, warm in winter and easy to dry if I do get them wet inside. Most importantly compared to several other brands they don't pinch at the toes and are very quick to break in. So notwithstanding the lace issue, very much recommended. I do buy a half size larger than my feet actually need though.

Good value ahoe that dies the job
Had mine for a year now and Ive warn them pretty much all the time. They're a but clunky I guess, but really good value and have provided me with sturdy support. Couple of things to mention. Its a pity there isn't a 9.5 size available. My size 9 is a touch on the small side to the extent I couldnt wear a thicker sock inside them. Also invest in second pair of laces. Otherwise go for it.

Good value, comfortable, but not waterproof
Very good value, and I found them comfortable with good grip for a series of long walks in North Wales, including hard climbs like Tryfan - I went a half-size large, which fit well with walking socks.Only thing to note is they're weather resistant, but definitely not waterproof. A couple of walks were in rain, with wet ground but no full immersion in water, and the boots held up for maybe an hour before my feet started getting damp and by the end of a 3-4 hour walk everything was soaked. Drying them out again then takes a long time, because they absorb a lot of water. It wasn't particularly a problem for walking a few hours, but I'd want better waterproofing for a full five-star rating, and if you're looking to do longer walks in poor weather you might want to look for something else.

the right balance of quality and price
I bought much more expensive walking shoes, they didn't last any longer than these. I bought cheaper and my feet regretted it. I buy a pair of these or as close as i can find every 2 years, the old pair retire to be the mowing the lawn/gardening shoes until they fail completely. I consider the every day shoe problem solved and these are my solution. Comfortable, durable.

comfortable and good value
These shoes are no doubt for older people, me being one of them. They are clunky, wide and not very fashionable. However, they are robust, comfortable, stable on uneven ground and very good value. You don't want to to undertake a 100 mile walk, but for dog walking and general rambling they are perfect.

Heavy, painful inner lining
These were great to start with, then I found that there is insufficient layering between the bottom of the metal clip for the shoe lace which digs into the foot underneathe, really painful. I also found that the shoe laces keep working their way loose as you walk, I recommend double knotting the shoe lace this helps quite a bit, but there is a lack of heel support and the shoes are quite heavy. I found they are sufficiently waterproof and able to use them for walking on muddy terrain during winter. I think the use of metal clips on the shoes is superfluous, they should just use regular holes without open metal clips, makes it too difficult to put on and take off.
