A surprisingly good performing piece - in spite of the low price
I've shot a fair amount of paint over the past 45 years - mostly cars, but a reasonable amount of airless stuff too, mostly using Grayco equipment. One key to successful paint work is careful methodical preparation, including tool selection and availabiity. There are a lot of gimmick paint tools out there so I was slightly concerned that this might be one of them, but at this low price I took a chance. The potential benefits that seemed possible by angling a tip to get access to high and/or tough areas on an exterior house finish job won me over. The tool arrived as I was ramping up to shoot. As always, I was careful to start with a spotlessly clean tip, gun, gun filter, hose, bucket, pump and pickup tube. New filters, clean tips, clean strained high quality paint that was fresh, freshly shaken and had the proper additives. In short - routine CORRECT prep for an airless spray job - with or without this angling nozzle gadget.I installed this angle-nozzle accessory in combination with a Grayco 18" extension, on an SP2 gun, shooting with an X7 with a 50' 1/4" Grayco hose using 317, 515 and 517 tips (depending on the situation) The paint was PPG Permanizer, 4.5 gal with one quart of Floetrol added. A Grayco X7 is a pro-sumer grade sprayer, kind of at the top of their "consumer" line of spray rigs. The gun was equipped with a 60 mesh filter. An X7 is not as nice as a 695, and an SP2 is their "o.k." gun, but both are a decent high consumer level sprayer setup. Single filter, a bit less pressure, max tip size is maybe 17-19 on a good day. But an X7 can handle a 50' hose, latex paint, and still shoot a 10" pattern with reasonable speed. A pretty nice DIY Pro-sumer grade spray rig, and probably better than renting a plugged up, beat up rental junker from a box house.RESULTSThe results using this angling accessory were really impressive. The increase in speed brought about by being able to angle the tip easily and rapidly was a real job accelerator. Thanks to the ability to reset angles instead of ladders, I was able to do whole sections with far less ladder moves. With this tilting tip accessory, I made FAR less compromises in gun and tip positioning, (o.k. painters, we all know we're doing it here and there...but this adjustable swivel joint device reduces that bad practice to a minimum)From my experience, using an 18" extension AND the Swivel Joint, the gun shot as if the tip was screwed straight onto the SP2 gun body. In other words, this adjustable nozzle accessory had zero detectable negative affect on the pattern, required no special increase in gun pressures. Most of all, mine did not leak a drop of paint.I see quite a few people have gotten this item, and several have complained about "leaking". Users NOTE: This device uses a hard nylon seat insert seal. It is NOT flippable. They supply ONE EXTRA seal with the tool.On this nylon seal, one side goes toward the tip, the other to the gun. Get that backwards and it will leak. Forget to install your tip gasket and it will leak. Treat it roughly, drop it, bang it against your work, whatever - it might start leaking as well. It is aluminum. But used carefully and professionally, this adjustable nozzle tool is a real winner. Clean up was super easy, just DON'T LOSE THE SPECIAL NYLON INSERT! :-) Not sure where you'd get more of those.Five stars - well made, includes extra nylon insert gasket - sturdy within reason, but should be used professionally for professional results. Won't work well for amateurs, the careless, or those who roughhouse their tools and don't give a crap about tossing them in the back of their truck right next to the tire iron and the spare bricks. For the rest of us, it is a godsend! Highly recommended.

Don’t buy
Even after tightening. It still leaks.

It fits and doesn't leak.
I got this so I could use a long spray wand when working with a customer to sort out a spray application issue. It did exactly what I needed at a great price.
