The Fargo 084053 HDP Retransfer Film for HDP5000 is the standard 1500 image transfer film for Fargo 5000 CR80 card printers. This product has been around for many years, and provides excellent results as long as your printer is well maintained. The validity of the retransfer film is only as good as the product manufacturing date. These films are date sensitive, like picking a jug of milk from a grocery store shelf - so you want the newest, freshest date. The older the date, the less the film performs. However, there is no way to see the date on the package before you purchase it from Amazon. So you are at the mercy of whatever company Amazon directs your purchase to. Best to go directly to the manufacturer and talk with a real person and make them guarantee the date of the product before you purchase it.
