I was hoping to do a little fresh water fishing this summer as a way of relaxing but our summer has been a bust so I haven't had the chance, this was ordered in anticipation but so far unused.That said, I have had a good look through the contents of this kit and it really is a great starter kit. I'm not a fisherman so I only have a rough idea of what I will need but this seems to me to have everything required included.On opening, this comes with a handy carry bag along with the telescopic fishing pole and a decent feeling reel. Also included in the set are some lures which look well made and come in different styles for different fish.When opening up the rod, this extends from a very compact and easy to carry unit to a full length rod which has a very fine tip so I would think that it can be used not only for normal fresh water fishing but also for fly fishing.Being unused in the real world I can't say for longevity however to me everything looks well made, the loops on the rod feel like they are fixed firmly in place and the reel spins nicely.Overall, I would say that for any beginner like me that this kit is a superb starter with everything required ready for use. This set is also very practical and easy to carry being telescopic and folding down to such a small size.Recommended.

This combo is really good for the price. The quality is decent, again for the price. The carrying bag is super nice. This is perfect to keep in the camper because it doesn't take up room or get in the way of other packing. I have never used a collapsible rod before so I am not sure how sturdy they would be. This one seems to work well. I have used it twice with no complaints, except that the writing on the material and labels is in Chinese.

This combo is perfect for keeping in the trunk or under the car seat for when you come across a juicy looking pond. The rod is beautifully constructed. The reel is a nice match. This is one heck of a bargain for a very nice kit.

The media could not be loaded.  On a few vacations I’ve had, I wasn’t aware that the fishing was available or any good in that particular region, but once I got there I found out the fishing was excellent. I ended up buy a cheap 2 piece rod and reel combo at a big box store to use during that trip, but ended up either giving them away or leaving them in my hotel room because I couldn’t fit them in my suitcase, and also because they were garbage. This telescopic rod and reel combo change all that, and now I’ll be taking them on most, if not future vacations. The rod and reel combo collapse down to a very compact 1’ 4”, and extend out to 7’ 4”, which allows for longer casting and more leverage when fighting bigger fish.The build quality of both the rod and reel are pretty good overall. I would trust that this rod and reel combo would be capable of landing most fish, fresh or saltwater, that were under the 10-15 pound range. In the hands of a skilled angler, I’m confident it would easy hold up bringing in much larger fish. Will I be getting rid of my other spinning rods, absolutely not, but when it comes to traveling or fitting under the seat of my truck, this rod and reel combo is #1.I got to test it out in a creek and I caught a 14” catfish and several bluegill (bream) and the rod and reel performed flawlessly. All of the fish were released unharmed to get bigger and fight another day. I was hoping to hook a 3 foot gar (shown in the last pic) and get a real fight on my hands, but they were being finicky.I hope this review was helpful. Thank you.
