The shelf is very sturdy and holds a non rackmount UPS and other equipment perfectly. The slots allow air to pass through and doesn't negatively affect my rack's cooling.

Overall the shelves are very nice and feel very sturdy. They were a bit snug trying to get them installed in my server rack at first. Once they were properly installed, they feel very secure and support my server equipment nicely. Overall a good purchase and would recommend if you're looking for adjustable shelves.

I found the Startech branded equipment many years ago and never looked back. This shelf is what I use in a 4-post rack and it is adjustable to the depth of the rack, which sometimes is 28" deep to 32" deep, this shelf has the arms that can extend perfectly no matter the length of the rack. I love how the arms wrap around the top and bottom of the shelf to hold it in place, even with one bolt if needed, but use the 2 for each side. I place two heafty servers side-by-side and have a standup UPS behind them and the shelf doesn't budge. This is a rack shelf I purchase every time, I never source or seek out any other brand, and they have never been anything less than perfect after 10 + years of heavy servers on them. The only time I will not buy this shelf is when StarTech stops making them, then I will be sad.

I got these to hold our 1U network devices. The rails in our datacenter are really thin and bendy, and even a medium sized switch sags with just the single front brackets. So I installed these shelved under each pair of switch / firewall. Worked great.Installing these is pretty straightforward, you attach 4 corner supports on the rails, then slide the shelf in. There are 2 shorter rails, and 2 longer ones. So you have an option to have the shelf a bit recessed on either the front or back. The shelf itself is pretty light, but holds a ton of weight. We have two monster switches that weight about 40 lbs each, and will bend the rails without rear support. With these shelves, it not only helped with the sag, but made installing soooo much easier. No more trying to hold up a switch while you try to install screws with a shaky hand. You just set the switch on the shelf. Way easier. I'm going to use these with all our cabinets, even the ones with thicker rails, just because it makes installation faster and safer.

The price on this item has skyrocketed. I really like it, I have others, but I hate how this company takes advantage of people by making more profits of an item that can be sold cheaper and still have great profits.

Well it holds the weight. Very sturdy. If your installing this for the first time. I would suggest removing anything in the rack as I had to put it in sideways then flatten. Installed in less than 10 minutes.

I am very satisfied with this shelf. There is a gap if you use it fully extended, but you can determine which side it is on. The gap works to your advantage in my opinion. Installing this shelf and adding single cord organizer made the rack much more neat and functional.I have two small gripes, for the price. I think there should have been a support beam in the middle. As it is, if I were to put a single weighty object in the center of the rack, the metal would "respond" way under the listed weight limit. That's not a problem for my arrangement however, and I'm pretty sure it would stand up to the weight limit just fine using some common sense. The second is simply that for the price it should have come with a tiny wrench. I didn't have the right sized wrench and it was a pain. But meh. It works good.

This entire shelf feels rather solid, textured painted black and matches well with the StarTech expandable 25u rack that I bought recently. The purpose behind this purchase was to store away the clutter of ATX Computers and IT Tool Bags that I have laying around throughout my home for easier access.My few complaints are that both rails provided (rear and back) could of been the same length and additional drill slots should be provided on the entire sides of the shelf for better support.Overall great product!

The shelf itself is over 24" as per above review, has no hope in hell of fitting within a 24" rack even though it says it fits inside 19.5" everywhere....just the rack column themselves maybe.Screws are super soft metal, stripped one without trying.

The mounting is adjustable, it's true, and probably it could be mounted to posts that are 19.5" apart, but be warned that the fixed size shelf is 27.5" deep, so if your server rack cabinet is not at least 28" deep and has a back, and/or a front door, or you just can't have it poking out by several extra inches, then this rack can't work for you.
