Sturdy
The plastic bin collapsed with the vacuum and this one holds up really well.

Protection from roof rats
Roof rat invasion and they don't mind chewing through hard plastic. I am using it to protect my dry foods.

Excellent
It's a metal pail just like ones used for adhesive or roofing tar, not very thick and will probably dent easily if tried. For me its exactly what I was looking for. The air tight clamp for the lid does have sharp edges but the company sent a pair of gloves with it and says to wear them when working the clamp. It seems like it would be good for the intended uses that are listed. This is just an unboxing review, I havent used it yet for the purpose I bought it for, I'm still waiting for another part. Personally Im planning to use this as part of a dust containment system I am making for cleaning out my pellet stove and wood burner. A pre-separator cyclone will be attached to the lid of this metal pail which will act as the collector for the ash. The whole system will be powered by a shop vac. I needed something air tight that wouldn't melt or catch fire if a hot ash happened to go into it. Hopefully this works as I planned.

THE BEST 5 GALLON BUCKET EVER
This thing is really well made. It's what anyone would hope for in a quality product. I've seen those cheap plastic buckets that crumble after a year or so. I bought this one to mount a small pump so I can "suction" drain the oil from my generator and the engine oil and hydraulic oil from my tractor without having to lay down on the ground to remove the plug. I'm hoping it'll be less messy to change the oils this way buy pumping the oil directly into the bucket - I'll drill some holes for that and mount the pump onto the lid like I saw on a y. tube channel.

Nice can and lid. Lid does not lock. Lid ha thin scalloped edge on rim and need to be careful opening to not cut fingers.

This metal bucket is perfect for helping warm up the greenhouse.
Out of the box, crazy idea. My husband has been experimenting with the temperature in the greenhouse as the temp drops below 30 degrees. He decided to try using natural reflecting light to warm up containers. The bucket helps add warmth from the daytime sunlight and keeps the water in the bucket warm. May sound crazy but the temp in the greenhouse with some of these added buckets causes the temp inside the greenhouse to be at least 9 or 10 degrees warmer than the outside temp. Using the bucket helps limit the use of the greenhouse heater. Great purchase!

Metal container reduces odors as long as the lid is on tightly.
At first, I was disappointed that the lid was not at all secure. However, studying the lid closer, I realized that it is designed with adjustable tabs that determine how much force will be necessary to take the lid on or off. I grabbed a screwdriver and stuck it in the hole in each tab to get the best leverage to bend the tab inward until I was happy with how secure the lid was.The adjustable tabs are interesting, but because they are separate, the lid does not seal as well as I would have liked. Upward pressure will raise the lid just enough to make tiny openings between the tabs. This metal bucket definitely won't be able to keep anything free from contamination. After spraying the inside with WD40, I was able to leave water in the bucket overnight without anything rusting. There were a few scratches on the outside when I got it (not shown - that's dirt in the picture), but nothing alarming. The bottom has warped a bit after a few uses and now it rocks slightly. Not a big deal to me - this is a utility bucket, not a wedding table centerpiece! The bucket itself is sturdy, but I feel like the handle could be more so. The metal bucket definitely won't become brittle in the sun like plastic, though! Very hot, but not brittle.
