Affordable, sturdy stool for bass players
My impetus for purchasing this stool was that I've been getting back into playing upright bass in an orchestra and I needed a stool that wouldn't be a pain to transport to rehearsals. I'm a big gal, so a sturdy stool was also a must.I've used this stool now for a couple weeks for practicing at home and in rehearsals and am very happy with it. It folds and unfolds easily. Folded, it packs in the car nicely and is easy to carry (with one note, see below). The padding on the seat is pretty good. It does start to get uncomfortable after a while, but that is primarily due to the size of the seat rather than anything else. A larger seat would be nice, but that is the sacrifice for portability. The important thing for me is that the padding is thick enough that the hard part of the seat doesn't cut into my thigh and kill circulation. In terms of height, it's pretty much perfect for me and the footrest is also at a good height. It supports my weight and doesn't feel flimsy or wobbly at all.Although I bought this primarily for upright bass, I play bass guitar as well, and like to have a stool for that sometimes. I wasn't sure how the instrument stand would function for my offset basses (which is all of them), but figured I could just take that part off if it didn't work. As it is, the arms of the lower rest are set far enough apart that it wasn't hard to balance an offset bass, even my Jaguar. However, the lower arms are where my one quibble is. They fold up/down freely with no resistance or latch. They'll flop out while you're carrying the stool (awkward when you're already carrying a bass) and flop down if you bump the stool when it's set up (tripping hazard in a crowded orchestra situation). It's not a hard problem to solve (currently, I've solved it with a produce rubber band, although I'll probably switch to a small bungee or velcro strap), but it would have been nice if there was an included strap.Aside from this, I'm extremely happy with the stool. It's not perfect, but at the price point I've been unable to find anything else that comes close.

Great quality, protective stand
Great quality, chair too high, it doesn't have anything to pull it up or down, but I like the stand.

Essential guitar gear
If you have a guitar and a front porch, you need this.

Perfect for those of us on the heavier side!
I'm too heavy for those puny guitar stools that are all over the place, which is why I bought this one. I was worried that it wouldn't be as good as advertised, but I needn't have! It's a solid, sturdy stool, comfortable to sit on for at least half an hour to an hour (I haven't yet sat on it any longer than that), and easy to fold. It's not overly heavy and is easy to carry from my car to wherever I'm playing. I have only sat my acoustic guitars on it so far, but I see no reason to think my electric guitars won't sit just as well.

Works ok, but…
The stool folds to a much smaller area than a wooden stool. It’s also fairly lightweight so it may not be real sturdy. It’s way more comfortable than a wooden stool. The stand function works ok.My biggest gripe is the way the lower part of the guitar stand does not stay folded up when the stool is folded. They could easily had made the rear hooks of this part a bit longer so they would go behind the opposite leg crossbar. As it is I had to use a rubber band to keep the lower stand fork folded up.

Very uncomfortable. Unbearable for any rehearsal over 20 min

Ease of Use
As a music therapist this is the perfect product! I didn’t even know this product existed until I was searching for a collapsible long chair. I ordered the first chair it was slightly damaged and they sent a replacement right away! Perfect height, light weight and easy to carry! I would definitely recommend this product for guitarists!
