Really great and posh makes you feel great

A nice gift set for a loved one. The shaving cream combines well, and the brush is great. I like the small stand that holds the brush too. It's nice, as you get a small adhesive pad so that you can stick it to a flat surface in your bathroom and rest the brush on it. A tad pricey for what you get inside the box, but still a nice set.

The media could not be loaded. overall, my main issue is with the sharing cream, it irritates the skin (i understand that it is relative), nevertheless, it does not make skin smooth after shaving and overall post shaving feeling is really poor. The scent is good but it is not enough, the cream causes more discomfort than comfort.the cream inside the bottle looked weird to me, tilted to one side as if the box was opened...the rest of the set is fine, the shaving brush, although made non from real hair, but from synthetic, it works well.

The shaving 'cream' is more like half way between a cream and a hard soap. Oddly when I first opened it, it was quite firm, but the fact that it was all 'shoved up' against one side of the plastic container (could they really not have used a metal tin like many other shaving soaps?) like it had been stored on its side suggested it had previously been a cream that later hardened, but next day after opening it had softened somewhat. I don't know if it is a bit temperature sensitive or something and goes harder or softer depending on conditions. It lathers up quite well and actually helps give a really good quality close shave. The Sicilian lime scent is not very strong though.The brush is decent and the stand is useful to have to help the brush dry out. I would argue that the set is quite expensive for what it is, but looking at the individual prices it doesn't look like there's significant markup for the gift set as you would often find. If you're going to have a shaving set it would be nice to have a shaving mug to lather up in (the fact that the contents of the 'cream' are all slopped up against one side of the container doesn't help in lathering up in that container), but looking at the price of such mugs for this brand - twenty quid! - that would really inflate the price of this already expensive set.I'm not a fan of the branding, namely the letter 'M' made out of rocks - it just looks identical to something my cat would leave in the litter tray, and that's all I can see when I look at it and I can't unsee it. If I was this company I would be asking for my money back from the graphic design agency they employed to come up with this.

My husband has absolutely loved using this 'retro' shaving kit.He loves the shaving cream the most as it's stopped him from getting those nicks he always gets from other products.The scent is lovely as well.This would make a wonderful gift.
