This thing is much better than the Harbor Freight options. I try whenever possible to avoid devices that need batteries. Bonus points if the device has USB-C. This one ticked all boxes, but I nearly returned it. I tried four different charge cables, all known good. I tried a wall wart, an iMac, and a power bank. None of them would even light up. Finally I tried a USB-A to USB-C cable and it pulled 0.5A at 2.6W from that one. So I guess the moral of the story is don't assume it will just work with any charger!

Took a while to figure out how to use and it fairly accurate for general use. Still would use a physical tape measure for precise cuts.

It was for my husband and he likes the easy to use features and how small it is.

This little device makes me starkly aware of just how far in the dust modern technology has left me. As you can see in the photo with its arch enemy and primary competitor—the tape measure—the laser distance meter is tiny! It’s a little larger than a lipstick, and about half the size of a small Roku remote, so it is easy and convenient to carry. It has a sleek, modern design which is enhanced by the grey aluminum and ABS plastic materials.The laser measure does so much more than I will ever need, as my primary uses will be simple measures of distance or, at the most complex, area measurements. Real carpenters, however, will appreciate its more advanced features. I could see this device being incredibly useful for architects, draftsmen, contractors, HVAC estimators, appraisers, realtors, and others.Unlike another laser measure I have, this measure has a large horizontal screen with large, brightly lit numbers even my aging eyes can see. I also like the smoothly sliding door which gives easy access to the charging port. That seems to be a significant improvement over the rubber plugs that most electronic devices employ.The laser is bright, and I found it easily visible at a distance of 62 feet. I’m sure that it is visible at much longer distances, but I ran out of room in my house.Unlike most products I purchase nowadays, the laser measure actually has good instructions with both words and drawings. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wish other manufacturers would follow suit.All in all, this is a very impressive and useful tool! I would give it more than five stars if I could.

With light use, this stops work after a dozen times

At just over 4"x1", this is a nice compact measuring tool. It came mostly charged but I was able to charge it the rest of the way with the included USB-C cable. It also comes with a handy carrying bag and a tether you can attach to the base.My first test with devices like this is to see if I can figure out how it works without reading the user manual. And this one passed with flying colors!You just long-press the top button with the laser icon and it powers on. Then you can press the middle button to change the mode (straight line measuring, area measuring, or volume measuring). The bottom button is for setting where the measurements take place - either from the bottom of the device or the top. Then you just press the laser button once to activate the laser and press it a second time to start the measurement. It takes about a half-second to measure (so hold it steady) and then you get your reading.You can also long-press the bottom button to switch measurement units - it support a decimal "feet" reading like 5.433 ft, an "inches" reading like 65 3/16 inches, a "feet and inches" reading like 5' 05 3/16", and a "meters" reading like 1.656m.Overall, this little device is going to make a great addition to my tool bag!

While it's okay, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with its accuracy. The tool is designed to measure distances quickly and easily using a laser, but I've found that it can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to accuracy.On the positive side, the tool is very easy to use. Simply point it at the object you want to measure and hit the button, and the laser beam gives you a quick and easy reading of the distance. It's also very lightweight and portable, so it's easy to take with you on the go.However, I've found that the accuracy can be a bit off at times. It's usually within a few 1/16's of an inch of the correct measurement but that can be frustrating when you're trying to get precise measurements. This makes it best suited for rough measurements or measurements that don't have to be super precise.Overall, while it's okay, I would recommend looking for a more accurate and reliable option if you need precise measurements. It's great for quick and rough measurements, but if you need to be very exact, you may want to invest in a higher-quality tool.
