Intended to mount to a 2x4, not a pickup bed rail system.
I have a Toyota Tacoma which has a factory bed rail system similar to many other makes. I purchased this mount expecting it to be an exact fit but the bolt holes are the wrong size and the mounting surface does not mate well against the bed rail system. Shame as it is very close. Reaming out the holes is not advised as they are too close to the edge for there to be any strength in the aluminum when it is stressed while being clamped in place. Seems like all of these mounts are similarly designed. You will need to add another material interface for this to work well.
