Let's text like it is the year 2000
The hype for Snake, T9 texts and sleek design has turned the 3310’s relaunch into a big event for me. But 2G connectivity and a rubbish camera bring you back to earth which is absolutely fine by me, I am nostalgic for the original 3310 after all. The “new” Nokia 3310 is more like a homage to the original than a straight-up remake. It looks vaguely like the original, thanks to its blue and grey colour scheme, oval buttons and Nokia logo. But the screen – now a 2.4in QVGA colour beast – and the body are vastly improved, at least within the realms of a “candybar” feature phone that would be at home in the year 2024.The back comes off to expose the removable battery, micro-sim and microSD card slot – here you’ll need the older, slightly larger sim card size, not the modern nano-sim, or at least an adapter. The front is fixed, so pick your colour wisely, blue and grey is perfect for me. In the top there’s a microUSB slot for power, which means no more tiny pin Nokia charger, and the bottom has something even Apple’s iPhone can’t boast: a headphone jack.To sum up, this phone is great for basic phone functions, a bit pricey though, and I will try to update this post with the battery life when it dies

Perfect as a second/spare phone!
I still have three of my/my family's old Nokia 3310's and they are still in good condition and going strong. However, I wanted to try this new updated version and I am not disappointed. It is still the basic old phone I loved but with a few modern features added to it WITHOUT turning it into an all bells and whistles phone. I think the addition of a BASIC camera/video recorder is a good one being only 2mp. The internet is a slow 2G like the WAP which the 3330 had (3310 with the addition of internet). Yes it is basic and very understated but that was the idea of it, it was never intended to replace our smartphones. I have an iPhone 6s Plus as my main phone and this Nokia 3310 works nicely as a spare alongside that.If you are thinking of buying this phone for playing Snake, please bear in my mind that the game has been modernised. I quite like it but if you miss the old snake game I have found it on the App Store for IOS (not sure about Android's Play store)...it's called 'Snake '97' and it is pretty much exactly like the old favourite. You can even go into settings and choose which virtual Nokia you want to play it on and it will appear on screen as that exact same phone with buttons and everything. But give the new Snake a try also, it's a nice update for this new 3310.It is nice to use a phone with physical buttons again and for me this does not seem too strange as I have my old large size sim from a different network (had that same sim card for 16 years) in another candy bar phone, so I'm used to actual buttons on a keypad. This is a lovely looking and perfect sized phone that is a slightly different size and shape of the original but is still instantly recognisable and I am so pleased I got it. I have the yellow one and it is stunning.I was fortunate enough to have preordered this phone two months before it's release so I got it at the reasonable price of £49, a bit different to the extortionate ridiculous prices that greedy third party sellers are now asking for it.

simplicity and style
This phone is exactly what I wanted and expected. I needed a second phone to use as backup on a different network to my iPhone. I like stylish things and the Nokia is a delightful item to hold and use, just like they used to be, whereas all other simple phones I have tried including the ubiquitous Nokia 150 feel and sound tinny and cheap the 3310 is substantial and solid with a clear display. It's also very small so perfect as an emergency phone slipped in jeans or when I'm jogging for example. Don't try the internet or anything sophisticated just stick to calls and basic texts and it's great. Also I use it as an MP3 player in the car which again it's ideal for because of the astonishing battery life. It costs a bit more than other basic phones but it's worth the extra for the style and quality feel - and 1000% better than the hideously frustrating and unreliable cheap smartphone I used before as a back up phone. A dream improvement would be dual sim version - when (if) it comes to the U.K. I will have one.

Comes with an unusual travel plug but IS a UK plug.
This Nokia phone came with a non standard UK plug. I couldn’t find which country it came from and gave up searching in the end. After moving the upper prong it was clearly a UK plug that can be folded for travel purposes. It doesn’t have the now standard USB-C port which was annoying on a new phone. The numbers on the keypad are difficult to see.The phone feels cheap and not a patch on the original. On the basis of my experience of this purchase, I returned the 3310 opted for the 2024 Nokia 3210 and all the above issues have been solved. Same plug but happy that it’s easy to use.Thank you for reading my review, I do hope this was helpful. Kind regards.

Clearer instructions needed but a great retro phone
My husband wanted this retro phone (he wanted a basic phone, no frills) & we initially had problems setting it up as we feel the instructions were poor. Every phone is different and I have owned a mobile since the '90's. But I found it annoying trying to help him. Our Service Provider tried to assist over the 'phone and sent a brand new sim card. The micro part of the sim is hard to insert and we were going to return the handset. Fortunately a friend who works with technology managed to sort it out for him. The phone is good looking with more features than the original 3310. Not everyone wants to have a phone that rules their lives. It's a phone after all not a Life Coach.
