First, this is a great bargain. I received two 100-tablet bottles for less than what I normally pay at CVS for one.My original problem was the ability to get to sleep, but not stay asleep. Melatonin keeps the number of awakenings during the night to a minimum compared to not taking it. Also I have never had any drugged feeling upon awakening after its use. I would recommend trying one of the 5 mg tabs first. Take 60-90 minutes before bedtime. You won't feel tired or "high" as you might feel with Valium. In fact I don't feel anything. My sleep onset is just quicker and middle-of-the-night awakenings less. After two years, I needed 10 mg to maintain the same effect.Give melatonin a try as a natural sleep aid before going to prescription sleep drugs. I do understand that some folks don't get any relief, and I myself was skeptical but have been pleasantly surprised by how effective they have been.Incidentally, due to odd work hour requirements, I'm in bed by 6 pm, usually asleep by 6:15 and feel refreshed when I wake up naturally at about 3 am.This is a great product at a good price. Highly recommended.

This is amazing! I have always had trouble falling asleep at a decent time. I also struggle occasionally to stay asleep or get quality sleep. I have had prescription medication to help in the past. This works almost as well as prescriptions for sleep, but without the drugged feeling that comes with them. I would recommend this to anyone who has trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or anyone who just enjoys peaceful and restful sleep. The time release makes it about 2 or 3 times as effective as the normal melatonin in the same dose, in my opinion. And the best part is that it is natural. No side effects. It provides great sleep and a list of health benefits. I feel rested and alert when I wake up. Don't take the 5mg if you can only get 4 hours or less, because you might have a hard time waking up. If I get at least 5 hours, I don't have trouble waking up.

My physician prescribed this for me to aid with maintaining sleep once asleep. It does seem to help most nights although sleep is a complex phenomenon; no doubt other factors can complicate effectiveness (e.g., alcohol, diet, exercise). My doc said the extended release aspect was key to the function of melatonin and when I used a straight 10mg dose w/o the extended release characteristic, it was not as effective. I've been using this product for about 6 months and am satisfied with it.

These tablets are an excellent way to take daily Melatonin.

Normally, I find myself waking up not feeling like I got a good nights sleep and I had a bit of trouble falling asleep. Well, more than a bit of trouble, it would take almost an hour every night to fall asleep because I would always be thinking about things that keep my awake. I have been taking these tablets about 5 minutes before I get in bed, and I have been falling asleep much faster and sleeping better. It is a bit harder to wake up in the morning, this is most likely due to the fact that I am not sleeping for the recommended 8 hours. This is a wonderful product and I'm glad I started taking these pills. I struggled with sleeping for the longest time, and while don't take these every night. When I do I have a good nights rest. I would recommend these as a starting point if anyone has issues sleeping before going to the doctor right away.

I use Natrol 5 mg (not time release) dissolvable tablets so thought I'd try the time release. They did not work and caused terrible headaches. I wasn't taking anything new and when I didn't take one night, I didn't have a headache. Amazon will not let me return even though one bottle is still in the plastic. BUMMER!
