I love this stuff!!
I was having problems with my eyelids peeling from other eye makeup removers and cotton pads so I bought this in hopes that it would easily take off mascara and not affect my skin. I absolutely will not use anything else. It's gentle and effective. The balm melts on your face so a little goes a long way, about a pea sized amount. It takes off mascara well and does not leak into your eyes. I wash with this all over my face first, then use CeraVe Oil Control Face wash. It does a great at cleaning.

Tiny but mighty
This is the first cleansing balm I've tried. I tried oil cleansers before but wrote them off because of breakouts. Turns out I was using it wrong. This is NOT a face wash, it's an oil makeup remover. If you fail to remove it all on acne prone skin, you 100% will break out. My first time using this, I could not rinse it off. Yes, it says "easy to rinse", but no, this is an oil and will not rinse off with just water. Oil & water- don't mix. After doing lots of research, here is what routine works for me:1- Take a small scoop of the balm with your finger, emulsify it between your palms then apply to your face.2- Wet your hands and continue working the product into your skin. This will make sure all makeup including mascara are lifted.* at this point, even after a couple of rinses, there will still be tons of this balm on your skin, smearing more the more water you add*3- This part is the most important; in order to truly remove the balm/oil from your skin, you HAVE to use a cotton round, washcloth or makeup eraser. Gently swiping until the balm is gone.4- After removing the balm with a washcloth, wash your face normally with your cleanser and voila!I have especially sensitive, rosacea, and acne prone skin, and when using the above steps, I have no breakouts or irritation. I wear a full face of makeup daily- moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, foundation, eyeliner, mascara- and this balm removes it all. The jar is tiny, but a little goes a long way, especially when you emulsify it in your hands before applying. I always gravitate to CeraVe because they are fragrance free and work great for those with sensitive skin.

Lovely cleansing balm!
Great balm that works really. Nice texture and soft on the skin. Great for makeup and SPF. Only thing, it’s way too small, wish it was a bigger pot.

Great Affordable Cleansing Balm From The Drug Store!
Cerave Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm delivers exactly what it says it will. Clean skin without sacrificing moisture. This cleansing balm removes makeup and excess dirt and oil and gets skin ready for the next step in your skin care routine. Oil Cleansers can sometimes get a pricey so I am was pleasantly surprised to see such an affordable option. It might not be chuck full of ingredients but what it does offer is a gentle way to remove makeup and all the gunk just sitting on your skin so that your cleanser can actually do it's job. The result is cleaner, brighter skin.

Fragrance-free and non-irritating
Takes makeup off like a dream, without drying out my combination skin. Mascara, pencil eyeliner, brow pencil, and matte liquid lipstick all come off with ease. Doesn't clog my pores or make my skin break out. It's the only makeup remover I use.

CeraVe Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm: 3/5 doesnt hold up to the Brand excellence
**CeraVe Cleansing Balm: Decent, but Not Outstanding (3/5)**The CeraVe Cleansing Balm has some great features but falls short in a few areas. It’s effective at removing makeup and feels gentle on the skin, especially for those with sensitive skin. The inclusion of ceramides and hydrating ingredients is a nice touch, leaving skin feeling soft after use. However, it doesn’t emulsify as easily as some other balms on the market, which can make it feel a bit greasy. For heavy makeup or waterproof products, I found it needed a second cleanse to fully remove everything. While it’s a solid option for daily use, there are better-performing cleansing balms out there at a similar price point.Overall, it's a decent product but not a game-changer in the world of cleansing balms. I love the CeraVe brand and would’ve thought that the balm would be no less. My top choices for cleansing balms are e.l.f ($11) and Clinique ($38).

Good Product, Lasts Long
I wasn’t sure about it at first but it works really well. You don’t need that much product, just scoop the back of your nail into it and rub it between your fingers. That amount can even remove a face full of face paint. I ordered this in October, 2024 and it only just ran out June 2025. Worth the price 👍

This is the bomb
I have used every brand of makeup wipe and/or micellar water and have NEVER removed all of my mascara without several swipes and a lot of rubbing...even though I don't wear waterproof mascara. Product says don't get in eyes...okay, shut them, use half a pearl size and a bit of water, one swipe of the washcloth and ALL of it is gone. Use a pearl size for rest of the face, again with a bit of water, and skin is clean, soft and moisturized. I have never felt a residue that would call for another cleanser after using this Ceravae It is a small jar, but I know it will last longer than the expensive wipes and micellar that I used twice a day. It does have a very faint, menthol fragrance that is gone as soon as it's washed off. Worth every penny!
