I can see a difference already!
I have worked hard to keep my body slim and trim. My body does not look my age at all. However, my face looked about 15 years older because I lost about 20 lbs. and my face looked saggy. I was quite dismayed with the appearance of my face, as I looked like I had suddenly aged when I lost the weight. I never liked the idea of plastic surgery...or any type of surgery for that matter, but because my jowls were saggy and I had marionette lines, I was feeling tempted!I stumbled across Suzanne Summer's micro-current device while shopping for collagen stimulating cream and was thrilled to see that there was something out there that could help! I did a lot of research and saw that this device was not the answer. As I read skin care forums, I read posts about facial exercises. Wow! Could there be something all natural out there that could really work?So, I researched extensively about facial exercises and watched many youtube videos by the various facial exercise gurus. I saw Eva and was shocked that she looked so young in her 80s!! So, I decided to try Eva's book, as it was a minimal expense.When I received the book, I was surprised that it was a small size. The drawings looked out-dated and it looked like it would be complicated to try to decipher what was being said, since I do not like to read directions. I am a visual person so I do much better with videos than with written instructions. So I did not bother with the book for about a week. One night, I thought that I would try reading it to see if I could follow it. I found that the instructions were pretty clear. I thought, "What do I have to lose? I will give it a few weeks."After a few of weeks, I could see a difference! Wow!! This really works!! That encouraged me to continue! My face was beginning to catch up with my body!! How exciting it was, to be on the road to regaining a more youthful face!! I do not look 30 yet...but I have lost about 5 years off my face after only a couple of months! So, I am really excited about continuing to turn back the clock on my face!!However, I still had a longing for a visual experience, so I began shopping for a DVD. Carole Maggio's name kept popping up, so I decided to order her DVD. Well, I was surprised when I viewed it, as it only had 7 muscular exercises and the rest of the 12 were imaginary....visualizing. I could see immediately that it was not for me!Eva's book is full of exercises, all of them muscular. There are beginner's routines, intermediate, and advanced. There is also massage and tapping, body exercises, diet, makeup etc. She really gets into the total lifestyle.I am starting to do the advanced exercises now, but just to make sure that I was doing them correctly, I went ahead and ordered the DVD from Amazon UK. I have not received it yet.After watching all the other facial exercise gurus, Eva has become my favorite!! She is the original one, and I feel that everyone has done spin-offs on her methods! I will continue with the exercises and I hope to look as good as she does when I get to be her age!!So....the moral of the story is....do not judge a book by its age or its presentation! Our bodies have not changed, and what worked 20 years ago, will still work today!BTW....I saw an article that mentioned that Madonna had gone to Eva for facial exercise training and that is why she looks so young. I say....if its good enough for the celebrities....it is worth giving it a go!

****Bonus Tip*****Head over to amazon.co.uk and buy the latest 2017 edition of this book for only $6-7 on kindle :)I bought the paperback of this old edition back in Sept 2017 for $11 or so, and now the price has skyrocketed, probably because book supply is dwindling and the demand for the exercises and popularity has risen. However, Eva Fraser is from England and apparently her book is much more popular there so there is a new edition there. Worth it.I actually found out by accident about the new edition because I came back to buy it for my mom, and was shocked by the crazy new price. So I'll be getting it from the UK now.As for the book itself, love the exercises. I'm only on the basic plus level (2nd level) even though I got the book many months ago now.. It took me a while to get started. The more I researched, the more convinced I was I need to do them. I'm only 36 but starting to see the early signs of ageing :)I can't say if the exercises work or not yet, too early as I've been doing them 6 days/ week only for 2 weeks. They don't take long, less than 10 mins a day and I only do them once a day rather than 2 times as suggested. I'm thankful when I can set aside the time just once a day, so that works for me.However, I can tell that the muscles are strengthening. One side of my face seems weaker than the other, and I just started the one-side of your face at a time series. On the 4th day it's already easier. On day 1 it was nearly impossible to move the left side muscles!The exercises are deceptively easy, and it's important to follow the simple instructions very closely and relax your face and body except the muscles you are working.I actually tried to get into a routine a few months back and thought they were too easy, so I didn't read every little detail of the instructions, and as a result didn't do them correctly. Now the second time around, I'm paying attention and looking at the diagrams, and it's not easy, but I think I'm doing them more correctly.Bottom line: if you buy the book at a reasonable price from UK, I think it will be a worthwhile investment in your confidence. (because this tiny paperback low quality edition is simply not worth $50, no matter how good the exercises are)

Timeless exercises and information
Book arrived when stated. I started the exercises the following day and am nearing the advanced section. There is already a noticeable difference in my jawline. I was getting very jowly and the skin is already lifted and feels "thicker"(perhaps from massaging). I still have more to lift but I'm very pleased with the beginning results. Also the many lines above my top lip are softening. I did a lot of research online before purchasing this book. Eva's information is in line with some of Jack LaLanne's face exercises. (the ones he did on his TV show, not on his Face a Tonic DVD) Since both looked amazing for their ages, it was a no brainer as to which to choose from around the web. Researching the other programs, I found that most of them are "knock-offs" from either Jack's or Eva's. I'm 62 and needed something I could see results within the first couple weeks, otherwise I knew I wouldn't do the exercises. I have a bit to go, but I'm confident that this program will meet my needs. I've exercised my body three times a week since I was 25, so I'm in good shape, but it never occurred to me to exercise my face. I wish I had started sooner. After starting this program, I know that there is still hope.I read some of the negative reviews and can only assume that the people leaving such reviews are not doing the exercises correctly or not doing them diligently. All I know is that they work for me and I guess that's all that really matters!

Going to give it a go, old-fashioned style book
I chose this book as the author is well reviewed. I'm quite confident that the face exercises will work but think the book needs to be updated and modernised. Also, a lot of the book is filled by exercises for the body, diet & makeup tips which I don't feel confident is up to date advise due to the aged style of the book.

Recently purchased, clear illustrations with some added lifestyle suggestions in the second half of the book. I personally think the key to the facial workout is to concentrate on working the muscles exactly as EF describes in each of the exercises, and relaxing everywhere else, ie head, neck, shoulders. Find a quiet uninterrupted space, and don't rush the process.

Excellent book!
Excellent book!! I actually believe these exercises have made a difference and I have only been doing them for 4 weeks. I have worked in the beauty industry for many years and I truly believe in this natural technique. Thank you Eva Fraser!!

New lines after doing one of the exercises
Despite the many glowing reviews I found one of the initial exercises (raising the eyebrows to the hairline) to bring on lines on my forehead with a couple of weeks of daily practice, the exact opposite of what the exercises are meant to do. So I don't have any trust in the rest of the book.
