Connecting is less convenient than bluetooth (3 reasons)
1. With WiFi I have an extra step having to connect to the unit (when I'm already connected to my house's WiFi).2. IT SEEMS SO FAR, that connecting is temperamental... I have to play with it in just the right order to get it to work.3. When I want to look up info on the web (about the code just read) I have to either use the mobile's "phone" connection (some devices won't have this, such as a WiFi-only tablet) OR I have to disconnect from the OBD2 scanner in order to connect to my home's WiFi.Having said all that, some phones (iOS as I understand it) require that you use WiFi instead of Bluetooth. In that case, this is a good unit.NOTE: It takes about 10 seconds to connect to the unit when it's going to work. If it takes longer, it likely won't connect (this is the temperamental part) and I have to start over (some or all of: turn off ignition, pull the OBD2 out, stop the code reading app and then put in the OBD2, turn on the ignition, give it a bit, then start the app again).

Cheap, works, would not buy again, but good enough to keep.
Was able to easily get my Galaxy Tab E 7" tablet to recognize its network. Using the OBD Fusion app, was able to read current stats on my 2017 Mazda MX5. Can't comment about diagnostic codes as I've yet to see any. One word of caution - as noted, this comes with no real documentation, and the 5 LEDs are BRIGHT! It stays powered on all the time,but the network is only available when the car is on, which makes sense. Don't think about leaving this connected unless you want to risk a dead battery. In my car, the lights shine up at the driver and are very distracting. If I use this while driving, I'll need to put some electrical tape over the undocumented, unlabeled, and therefore useless LEDs. I'd also worry about knocking the unit off the OBD socket, as it extends so far into the space my left leg occupies.Cheap, and worth the price.

Easy To Use With "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" App from the Android Play Store
Using this with new Android phone and free "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" app (4.7 stars) from the Android Play Store it was much easier than using Torque Lite as I did in the past, which took forever to connect and you could never tell what you did to get it to work. This was obvious and easy. So I came back after 2 years to give this a 5 star review because the only thing that wasn't good about it in the past was the Torque Lite interface. This thing connected to my phone using WiFi and read and cleared my code in 5 minutes flat.

DO NOT BUY THIS!
This thing should be removed from store. I used this to erase an error code on my car and paid for the corresponding ap and I just had to spend $1500 to repair my console. DO NOT BUY THIS! Please learn from my mistake.

tough and reliable. just as good or better than a $80 scanner
Im a mechanic and i love this thing, it always connects and shows lots of data including throttle position, coolant temp, o2 sensor readings, intake air temp and on and on. the torque app it uses can be a little tricky sometimes but once you figure out its quirks is easy to use. mine even went through the washing machine and came out working fine. the only problem i have is remembering to take it out of customers cars before they leave.

Must Have!!!!
This is a MUST HAVE. Works great. The WiFi is Pear to Peer. Does not have to have Access Point. Faster updates than the older Bluetooth models. Works with lots of apps. Only Con is that it runs hot if left in place for a long period of time. Yes, you can drive around with it paired to your phone and gives you all kinds of data. I am using Free app "OBD Fusion" on my iPhone. Connection was simple. A+++

This is NOT a super specific OBD-II reader
Phone connects to it immediately, haven't had any issues so far.This is NOT a super specific OBD-II reader, for example if you've got a BMW there are codes you wont be able to see with this, but for $20 it's a good deal. Still difficult to troubleshoot some problems, but definitely worth the money.

Wi-Fi connection was spotty
It's pretty clear that these things are very cheap–– And as such the quality-control is lacking in manufacture. We have had these units in the past works successfully but there's about a 30%Failure rate. We returned the unit was bought on Amazon
