We used this to control Christmas lights outside. It is very easy to set this up for turning off and on using the app. Set it and forget it basically. This can be used inside as well to turn lights on and off like the old school timers as well.

I have some other smart plugs that I’ve had to constantly reset. This one is great, works outside with all weather, and holds it’s settings well.

I set this product up at an Airbnb we own located over 1000 miles away from home. The set-up using the Bn-Link app was incredibly frustrating—-although it seemed relatively simple, switching to 2.4ghz briefly caused many of our other smart devices to stop working. While most reconnected normally after a few minutes, our Nest wouldn’t and it let to a lot of wasted time and the A/C wouldn’t come on on 90 degree weather. Now 4 months later I returned for the first time and the timer schedule/scene has not worked. I tried to open the BN-Link app and nothing. Downloaded the newer app and it states my account doesn’t exist, even when I try to use the “forgot password” option. Only after I saw a review here recommending the FEIT app instead was I able to connect this quickly and smoothly. However, given all the time wasted and BN-Link eliminating my account within 4 months (and yes I still have email confirmations it was created 4 months ago) I just feel they don’t care about customers and I will not buy another one of their products.

The instructions say to change the network to 2.4 and use the BN-LINK SMART app which would not connect with the Smart Plug at all making the Smart Plug pretty useless. Fortunately other reviewers recommended the Feit Electric app which had no trouble connecting to the BN-LINK Smart Plug using the easy setup (quick blinking) mode and with that app I was up and running in less than a minute. Programming sunrise/sunset was challenging because you don’t program it on the Smart Plug operation page like you do for specific times. Instead you create a Smart Scene Automation and then tell it to turn the switch(es) on or off. One automation for sunrise and another for sunset. It works great NOW, but for an hour and half while following the instructions and fighting with it, I wanted to smash it to smithereens. We currently have a slightly strained relationship with little patience for any further misadventures. It has not disappointed.

I bought this to remotely control a heater so I could turn it on when needed during the winter. The setup was terse and confusing because the images shown in the App didn't match this particular plug. Once I figured it out, the setup took place without further issue. On/off response is very quick, even from 600 miles away, as I have a remote camera monitoring the location. One negative is the rubber plug covers. They get in the way when you have two plugs in both outlets.

I've got this dimmer/timer hooked up to some hanging outdoor lights. With the app it's easy to control. I've got a timer set up on the app to have the lights come on at a specific time each night. Another cool feature is that you can turn on the lights remotely with the app and set a timer for when you want the lights to go off. This is handy for me because I often have bears at night. I can turn the lights on and have them go off in 30 mins (or whatever).

I absolutely love this for our outdoor Christmas lights. We live in a very cold state and the last thing I want to do is go out to plug in the lights at night, plus I forget!!It’s easy to set up and you can create a schedule in the app so things turn on and off at a certain time!

We do a lot of different control work with really high end lighting control systems, and I will be honest, these are actually one of my favorite, cost effective, control modules. Easy set up. Works great with Alexa. We highly recommend them for the average DIY guys. Use they for so many different applications. Thumbs up.

I use the IOS CE Smart app (very similar to Smartlife app) to control my WiFi lighting automation devices (CE Smart Home from Costco).This device added easily to the app (hold button until blue light flashes, add manually, enter WiFi details, wait for 2 minute timer to find device). I bought 2 of these and both added first try while sitting next to my Google WiFi mesh router (2.4+5ghz), so no issues with 5ghz.Each of the 2 plugs can be controlled individually with the app Scenes automation.So far it works as expected perfectly.
