Let the Storm Break (2) (Sky Fall)

I LOVED book 1 in this series
I LOVED book 1 in this series, and consequently pounced on book 2. Within a page or two, everything came back to me: all the romance, the sadness, the overwhelming odds stacked against Vane and Audra. Before I knew it, I was swept away once again.A common pitfall for sequels, for me, is that they often lose track of the main characters' relationship, or they have plots that lag. In this book, Messenger keep us tightly connected to Vane and Audra as she kicks up the plot- and it works. The bad guys get worse, the storms get nastier, and a new character keeps you guessing about whether she is or isn't trustworthy.Audra lacked a sense of self-worth in book 1, in favor of a willingness to serve as a Gale. In book 2 she works on developing her identity independent of her duty. This is much-needed plot thread, and provides complications that amp up the conflict.Vane is, understandably, struggling with how much of his humanity he can hold onto while learning about his true place in a very non-human society. He also struggles with Audra's absence, and just how little he can do, as a passive Western sylph, about the awful things that are going on around him.The big fight scene at the end- take your time while reading. It's worth savoring the description and dialogue. I remember just dying to learn what happened, and speeding through much of the scene. I shortchanged myself in doing so; don't make the same mistake. This ending. . . good gravy. This ending will put you into a knot, because you don't get resolution for this cliff hanger for another year! It's a sweet kind of agony, for sure; the best kind of frustrating. Let me know if it has you chewing your nails, too.

Goes well beyond the book2s that I have come to know.
So this book was AMAZING! Vane and Audra are now my FAV YA Couple. This book goes well beyond the book2s that I have come to know. And blows the plot, story, and characters, out of the sky. I will will be crying until I can read book three!!This book picks up where book one ended. And the ending left me in shock. I hate cliffhangers lol. This books dual POV was so good! I really have to praise the author on her work. The POV changes with each chapter. One with Vane one with Audra and it works so well. It think other authors could learn a thing or two from these two books. The only issue I had was that Vane a lot of times reads like a girl or a over hormonal boy. But as I really got into the book I started to love it!! Vane isnt scared to take a helping hand instead of trying to do it on his own (unlike a lot of other teen boys in other books) He also isn't afraid to stand up for those he loves etc. I think he really came into his own in Let the Storm Break. Audra just keeps getting better. I love her character. And I would have to say that if I was a gale and I had to choose between Solana (sorry if thats spelled wrong) and Aurda I would choose Audra just for the fact that she is a fighter. I know that Solona isn't just a pretty face but, my vote would go to Audra because she is strong and would never let the fourth language fall into the wrong hands. As you will see in this book. This series has to be one of the best and most unique paranormal stories I've read in some time. Its fast paced and never lets you put the book down. It will make you laugh, cry, and scream, o ya! This one doesn't have a Love Triangle. Although maybe the author was trying to add one with Solana it just isn't going anywhere as Vane is diehard in love with Audra.

Very good book 2
This picks up where "Let the Sky Fall" left us hanging and continues the adventure. As the main players develop, they also kind of grew on me. I enjoyed picking up this book and moving on with the story. A bit more intense than the first book, but situations grow nicely with the story plot line. There were a couple rather interesting plot twists as well. After finishing this book, I'm very ready to pick up the sequel, book three.

Vale & Audra~A Love story for the ages
I simply ADORE this series. it comes across as slightly dystopian but really it's more a science fiction/YA/Love story. The entire premise of the "weather" being alive is very interesting especially having the WINDS & STORMS be represented by actual characters. The love story between Vale & Audra is just romantic and sweet. Normally 2nd books are just filler and usually not all that compelling but this second book-WOW!! It kept me sucked in from page one.One of the best YA series out there and definitely another one that will leave me wanting more long after the final book.

"Shannon Outdoes Herself"
Vane. Audra. Two teenagers in love, fighting Raiden. Raiden is more powerful than anyone realises. The power of the four can't protect them anymore. The pull of the bond. The forbidden bond. It crushes Vane, the winds sent to destroy him.Audra is running from herself, from Vane, from Raiden. The bond is producing a yearning for Vane. The fight continues...All in all an amazing storyline with a thrilling plot. Shannon has outdone herself.Shannon Messenger is an incredible author. She has another series going called Keeper Of The Lost Cities. Check it out.

Good read! Recommended.
With this part in the Sky Fall series Shannon Messenger goes further deep into the sylph life. Bring it more closer to the Villain.I wished author had the Solana, Audra and Vane love triangle more interesting, which could have added a nice flavour to it. I'm already half-way through the book and the only thing I hate is that it'll end soon and then I'll have to wait for the 3rd part. It's a really nice story though. For those who like paranormal genre would like it more.
