What they are getting at is that the included power supply is a 36-watt supply (12V X 3A = 36W). To achieve a higher power output, use a power supply greater than what they provide. If you stick with using a 12V supply and you want 60 watts out of it, you need a 12V 5A supply (12 X 5 = 60). However, you don't need to limit yourself to a 12V supply. The unit will operate with a power supply voltage between 4.5 – 24 Volts DC, so any power supply within that range will work if its current (amps) will allow 60 watts.
