I'm obsessed with this spice rack!

I got one of these shelves to try out and fell in love with it so much that I bought another... still had enough room for one more so I bought a third. Despite the fact that each time I purchased it, the price had gone up (purchased all three within a week of each other). Let's not beat around the bush, this spice rack is expensive! At almost $60 it's pricy but I still thought it was worth it. My spice shelf was always a mess, it was hard to find anything when you wanted it which also led to buying multiple bottles or bags of spices because you thought that you were out, I had risers to make more levels but of course, getting a spice in the back out was difficult and you either had to take out a bunch of bottles or you had to reach around, we often have spice fall out of the shelf and bottles have broken or bonked us on the head or caused other messes. I don't have to worry about that ever again with these spice racks because you pull the spice rack out to reach all the way in the back and you won't knock anything out of place and nothing will fall down on your head. These were very easy to install you just put in six screws to hold the base in place. I didn't read the instructions carefully on the first or second so I just slid the self forward and reached behind to screw it in... when the third one was ordered I actually started to think to myself wait a minute how am I going to screw this in place? Then something caught my eye in the manual about removing the base... duh. You slide a little lever over to the side and like many drawer channels it will slide out of the grooves. When the third came it was easy to screw the base in and then slide the shelving unit back on and into the grooves. The only thing I didn't really think about is that I set mine back all the way in the shelf and can just barely fit 3 of these shelving units. Unfortunately, that means on the third shelf I can't pull out the very back spices without removing the one in front of it because it's blocked by the side of the cabinet frame. I can pull them out a little and see what the bottle says in the front but not pull it out completely. So something to think about when installing. I was only going to do 1 of these and then decided to go for two, then three so I hadn't played around with it or thought about it and just lined them up with the first shelf. I still think it's functional enough and I could slide the shelves out of the grooves and move the bases forward, but I think it's okay the way it is. I also love that they lock into place when pushed all the way back and they have a very smooth glide. The other thing I really appreciate is the plethora of labels! It has almost every spice you could think of. I had to write in three of my own "7 Spice Mix" and "Berberi Spice" which I buy from a local Arab grocery and then "Chai Sugar" which is chai infused sugar. Those are probably not very common to the general population so I wasn't surprised I had to create my own labels. Some spices I added modifiers to though. So for example one that says "Vanilla" I added "Sugar") on the label so I would remember that it's vanilla powder/vanilla sugar. Or on the "Curry Powder: Hot" I added "Madras." There were quite a few curry powder labels like hot, sweet, spicy, and maharaja but none that already said madras or even red. So I just added on those qualifiers to the label. The set comes with a white chalk marker and a white chalk pen. I found the pen better for making legible, clean, clear writing on the labels, but it was inconsistent in how white it was. You also have to be patient and wait for it to dry well so that you can touch it without rubbing off what you wrote. The good thing is that it's easy to clean off the labels if you want to refill the jar with something else. Dried marker/pen can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Then there are the same spices listed on labels that are intended to go on the fronts of the racks so you know where the spice is that you're looking for without having to pull out the shelf and browse. The intended use is that you take one sticker for each of the 5 spices on a shelf (4 shelves per rack) and place them on the center panel of the rack's front piece. However, you can squeeze two of these labels side by side if you wanted to for example list the spice in another language. I wrote out all the spices in Arabic so my Arabic-speaking husband would have an easier time finding spices under names he was familiar with too. So if you are a bi-lingual home you could use this in a way that supports multiple languages. Also, if you wanted all your jars labeled in another language you could just use the blank labels and write them yourself. My only negative thought about these shelves is that there's a lot of wasted stickers. I only opened the sticker pack from the first one because in each of the new shelves I was still only putting spices that hadn't gone on the other shelving units. I have the capacity for 60 spices in there with no repeats so I could just keep taking off the same set and never open the second or third package. In addition, I felt like there were sometimes more labels than needed. For example, it has a sticker for Parsely, Parsley: Culry, Parsley, Italian, etc... I've never known someone to keep more than one type of parsley in the spice cabinet so I can't imagine there's a huge need for several different parsley labels. Maybe I'm wrong and you love to have multiple parsley in your cabinet and labeled correctly, but it seems like a lot of the listed spices are just too many unnecessary variations on the same spice. They could have included labels for more obscure spices as opposed to variations of the same ones which I think would have been more useful. You could always do like I did with mine and write you specifics on the premade label like when I added "Madras" to the "Curry Powder: Hot" label. Also, while I appreciate the inclusion of the fold-down funnel, I noticed huge variations in the funnel quality between all three racks I got. One was perfect, no defects, no deformations, no rips... perfect. Another had some mild deformations and a few small spots inside which were uneven and would catch spices in them. Another had several small rips and tears was deformed, and had multiple spots inside that could catch spices. Filling 20 spice bottles with one funnel like this is a bit annoying. The spices tend to stick to the surface more than they would on a small metal funnel for example. This means washing and drying after almost every use (seeds didn't leave behind powder that needed to be washed out).Wondering just what spices are included? I've included a picture of the spice list so you can see if all your favorites are there on the pre-made labels. There is an entire page of blank labels too.

Great space saver, keeps everything organized.

The media could not be loaded. I am soooo happy with this purchase! I’ve been researching lots of spice racks to see which ones would best suit my needs. This definitely fits the bill. This product was perfect. It includes everything you need to organize your spices: the rack, screws, stickers, bottles, and a white gel pen to write additional spice names. The rack is heavy duty and sturdy. Once anchored to your cabinet, there’s no way it’s falling out.The bottles are a good size and you can transfer standard store bought spices directly into the bottles. An additional asset is that the bottles come with a shaker spout that has two options for use. It can easily snap off and on when refilling. The stickers are well thought out. They’re good quality labels and can easily be repositioned. I accidentally had an edge stick to the middle of a bottle and was scared that it wouldn’t come off. I was happy that it lifted up cleanly and didn’t wrinkle the sticker.I didn’t have a need to write a lot of new names, except for two so far. Using the pen included, I wrote labels for Dashi and Seasoning-Arrachera. I tried to match the font of the labels and I think I did a pretty good job. You wouldn’t notice it was hand written unless you really stared at it. The white pen is great and so easy to write with. I didn’t have to go over any letters. One pen stroke was enough. It also came with labels that you can place on the side of the rack for easy identification. I haven’t put them on mine yet because I still need to buy two more racks to store all my spices. Then I can get them all organized the way I want. This is such a space saver. One of my absolute favorite purchases!

great way to organize

Easy to install, and it really helps clean up my spice cabinet! No more digging to find the right spice. It pulls out nicely, and you're able to label everything so you can see what you have.

Missing parts - Updated

Fits in my cabinet perfectly and easy to install, however, after installing and moving all my spices I realized I was not given all of the labels which is why I am leaving 3 stars.I am changing my review to 5 stars as their customer service email was extremely responsive and they mailed me a new set of labels extremely quickly.

PLEASE READ! Not perfect, but close. Drawer is not reversible, requires modification!

I REALLY want to give these 5 stars. Overall, I love these things. They do a great job organizing the spice cabinet. Installation of one of them was very easy. The other I had to modify. Keep reading...My major complaint is that unless you modify the drawer, you can only have it slide out with the jars coming out of the left side. That doesn't work very well if your cabinet hinges are on the left side, like mine are.The solution was to drill out all the rivets (4 of them) on the drawer, flip the slides around and screw them back down. I used #8-32 x 3/8in machine screws with nuts to fasten it back down. Why oh why was it assembled with rivets instead of screws? Makes zero sense!**Simple solution for the manufacturer: Screws, not rivets! Don't be excessively cheap!**Even with the solution above, there is still one major problem, especially for those with any kind of OCD. You can see from my pics that the label plates are only on one side of the drawer. WHY??!?!??!?!!?**Simple solution for manufacturer: Weld plates to BOTH sides of the drawer. Or instead of welding, make them removable.**For the price, I feel like the value is not as great for these. If you need your spice bottles to come out from the right side, be prepared to be a bit frustrated.
