I have stick-straight hair that tends to literally stand on end without product. I have been a firm hold gel user with a fairly short cut for most of my life. I recently let the top of my hair grow out quite a bit more with somewhat of a fade from the sides to the top. With my very defiant hair, I was looking for something that would give my longer hair flexibility with a more natural look of sitting politely on top of my head vs. a crazy gel helmet, but I also needed to tame the sides that were still very short. This paste has been the magic bullet in balancing the needs of my two lengths of hair. The product has enough weight to help hold my longer hair in place, but it also has this lasting tackiness that keeps the short hair under control. Overall, it’s sort of like my hair after two days without a wash…but without the unsanitary greasy feeling. The one downside is that this product does stay tacky for two days and that will find its way to your hands if you touch your head. Small price to pay for a great, versatile product…plus it smells really nice.

This product is so good. I have 3B curls that I’m letting go grey. This cream gives my hair a good hold over several days. I use it with a lead in moisturizer and a moose. This is the last product that I apply to my hair and then scrunch it. Sometimes I blow dry it with a diffuser and sometimes I let it air dry. I get different effects with each. Air drying it is silky, but with less volume. Diffusing gives it lots of volume and silkiness, but not as much as air drying in the silkiness department. Finally, the smell is absolutely amazing. The packaging is really pretty, too.

This smells so good I want to eat it. I am obsessed with the scent! The hold is very good, it is a bit sticky but that’s typical for a paste and it keeps my postpartum baby hairs held in place which is exactly what I need it to do! I love Davines products and this one is another hit for me!

I'm reluctantly reordering another tube of this. But thanks to Amazon's "Returns and Orders" I can see that I was a happy user of Davines Glossy Modeling Putty for Wizards No. 4 for several years, then it seemingly disappeared from Amazon and I guess, the entire market. SO sad. My purchase history for the discontinued product goes back to 2014!This stuff is okay, just feels a bit heavier in the hair and definitely not as glossy. Sometimes change is good, but sometimes change is a step backward.If anyone knows where I can get the Glossy Modeling Putty, as in days of olde, do tell!

I wear a pixie clippered cut that's longer on top. Using just a dot of this rubbed between my fingertips then applied to the damp hair allows me to texturing the top in spikes or volumize for curls and have it completely hold all day however I place it.

I have been using this on the advice of my high end hairstylist for many years. It is great. It holds my hair in a combed style without looking like it's been cast out of metal. (My hair is naturally curly and this product gives me what other guys call "flow", without getting obnoxious rich boy looking curls in the front.I have also used another Davines product I have tried that comes in the same shaped tube, but blue label, and I've also used the old standard Brylcreem.This is the best of the three.

I have fine hair and I have used this product for years! Nothing compares.
