RC Adjustable Shocks Absorber Springs Set Upgrade Parts 283004 80mm 1/16 Buggy Truck Off-Road HPI HSP Traxxas Losi Axial Tamiya Redcat Car(Purple)

These are nice shocks for the most part. I recommend replacing the oil that comes in them as they aren't fully filled from the factory, and the oil seems to be lesser quality stuff anyways. They do hold oil well and do not seem to leak, the springs are quality as well. However the shock mounts are plastic and not very strong. I broke them first time out on a super small jump. I replaced the lower mount with the stock plastic shock mounts off the friction shocks that came on my RC and seemed to fix the problem, but was constantly afraid the tops would now break. Also, they come with smaller screws and the holes on the mounts are smaller. More for like 1/18 scale sized holes. If these had better mounting points made of aluminum, or a better quality plastic these would be 5 stars all day long, but since they come with undersized brittle plastic mounts I am barely giving them 3 stars, but it's just because they do dampen well once you fill them with better oil. Overall I ended up just taking them off my RC and saving to use in the future if needed but went with something else. I do not recommend these unless they start adding stronger mounts, both top and bottom. Hope this helps.

Works great on my 1:16 Q903. It was a little water work but not too bad. I needed to pop out the existing lower ball joint in order to snap it on the lower control arm. Then I needed to snap in the long knuckle into the upper part of the shock to clear the upper control arm. Fits perfect. I also like the spring adjustments.

Three minutes of use and one knuckle split. Ten more minutes and another one was pulled off the shaft.And no, they don't come with oil. Admittedly the description doesn't say they do, but more transparency would have been appreciated.I'm using these on my Hosim Q903. These looked like better quality units than the Hosim-branded oil filled shocks, but now I'm not so sure. Modifications to the car were required. These new "upgraded" shocks have thinner shafts than the Hosim friction units, so I'm waiting for them to bend. Not sure if that will happen first, or if the knuckles will break.But they don't leak, and they are a performance improvement over the non-oil-filled oned.

Wasn't sure why my rc kept flipping ever time I went to turn I checked the shock and no oil wasn't sure what to use so bar and chain it is lol

Bought 2 packs of these and so far impressed but one thing could be better is to put more oil than a little dribble in them or send extra tube of oil

Easy to install but the plastic at the top of the shock broke off on 1 of them after 2 batteries

Great replacement shocks for the 1/16th scale q903 and q902..makes them totally different machines! Shocks come filled with oil!
