Wonderfully heartwarming read. The Nicholson’s deserve every accolade for their hard work and dedication to their animals let alone their commitment to social media broadcasts etc for their army of supporters. They’ve certainly helped me through lockdown! I’m hooked on Cannon Hall Farm and the farmers! Buy this book, you won’t regret it.

What a fantastic book couldnt put it down the highs and lows from this great farm and family. From roger aged 16 taking on the responsibilty of the farm after his dads passing to how they have evolved how oh wow. If you havent bought this book i would highly recomend you do . Ive laughed and cried during reading it. Its also informative as to some of the animals they keep as well.Fantastic guys well done .

This book is a great feel good read....the Nicholson family and Cannon Hall Farm are well known in South Yorkshire, and across the UK due to their hard work in bringing Cannon Hall Farm to the public eye.The book tells the history of the farm, and the Nicholson family itself from way back to the modern day, this is a family that has worked hard to get where they are today and they deserve every single award and plaudit they have earned over the years.From battling foot and mouth, and more recently the Covid pandemic, the book relates their way of life, their work ethic, how the family has grown over the years and how the farm has been adapted over the years to save rare breed animals, from cattle, sheep, pigs, shire horses, Llamas and alpacas....and even meerkats and porcupines....the list is endless.To me Cynthia Nicholson is the hidden hero of the family, without her scones the original little tea room might never have played such an important part in keeping the farm going financially.... she trusts and supports the menfolk in their efforts in making the farm accessible to the public...this is a working farm, not just some theme park and the book is full of detail as to how this has been achieved.....and when you realise that Farmer Roger took on the farm at the tender age of 16yrs after his fathers death you realise just how much he loves the farm and the animals, and even now, as he nears his 80th birthday, he is still working on the farm with the animals he loves so much.The Nicholson's are definitely all " Living their best lives" and will continue to do for years to come......Read this book and you will see how a farming family adapted to cope with the changes that could have destroyed their way of life if they hadn't chosen to set a new path and go for it.....By heck but they showed what can be done with hard graft and true Yorkshire grit.....Oh, and the farm shop's chefs make the most wonderful pork pies...take it from me, they are well worth buying :-)

What can I say, I have loved reading this book. This book is full to the brim with the pure love for family life, it has all the ups and downs and of course the sadness that can come along the way. You can feel the heart felt emotion, of the good the bad and ugly of trying to survive whilst raising a family. You can't fail to will the farm to succeed, for that break to come and the pressure to lift. Will this plan work, will it fail, again. What is the next route to try and the pressure to succeed. What really got to me was Roger wanting his dad's approval for all he has done to make the farm a success. Roger you dad would be so proud. Life for any family is never easy and this book really shows it.

Brilliant read could not put it down received mine via kindle but have ordered the hardback book.

I brought this book as I what there show amazing reading and I hope they bring more books out because I will definitely be buying

Great insight into the beginnings of Cannon Hall Farm. Wonderful hard working family that have deserved their success. Well done everyone involved. Highly recommended read.
