The reason I gave two stars is the fan is really strong and it's super easy setup. However a major design flaw is that the trapping area has vent holes that are large enough for the bugs to escape as soon as the machine is turned off. They can easily go in and out of the device. So I don't think it's very effective. Unless maybe, you can put glue boards or some other sticky material inside which I have not tried yet.Update glue boards ont fit had it on since day one and it's caught and made dizzy several escaping bugs but has only actually caught two large house flies.

Very easy to use, practical, quiet, effective and at a very low cost. I purchase this item and at the same time ordered another model of a mosquito trap which costs double. I wanted to know what made the other one cost so different. To my frustration, the other trap has never caught a single mosquito regardless of where I place it inside our home.Another drawback of the other trap: it needs adhesive pads.I recommend the Faiuk trap because of the qualities I mentioned at first, and NO PADS ! That's right, you don't need to purchase any. The trap works great and it's a very ingenious design, not mentioning the nice aesthetics.

I bought this for tiny moths that we have in spruce forests in the high Rockies. They get into houses in mysterious ways and accumulate in window sills, and anywhere night lights are on. I have captured some moths but haven’t had a mosquito season yet to try it out on trapping mosquitoes. It’s not noisy, has two speeds, a timer if you’d like that and I would say it’s not obtrusive to keep it running all the time. Tray easily slides out to empty. No chemicals, no sticky paper, no smell!

Well, if you want to capture beetles and moths, this works fine. But it doesn't work for mosquitoes or house flies. The capture mechanism doesn't seem to hold smaller insects. Once the machine is turned off, the smaller living bugs captured inside tend to escape! Then all you are left with is small beetles and moths that were too big to get out. Plus, they may still be alive, so when you pull out the little capture tray they may crawl or fly out!!Unfortunately the unit does not help us with our goal of reducing mosquitoes and flies. We cannot recommend :(

I bought these as we have had problems with mosquitos in the house... We have one in the living room area and the other in the guest bathroom (lots of sightings there) ... check every so often and there are some in the bottom not moving around... except once, one was trapped in the little trap underneath. later it was no longer living...

Looks beautiful, is well made and easy to use, but doesn't catch fungus gnats from my plants or fruit flies in my kitchen. I have a different brand of this and that one is working great. Looks like there is some sort of design flaw. Dont understand the difference, but there definately is.

My wife and I can't believe how fast this works. We had fruit flies all over the kitchen and tried a lot of different things but nothing worked. The trap took care of the flies within a few days!
