Fantastic port of a true classic
I've been playing BG1 & 2 since they came out. By far 2 of my favorite games of of time. It's getting hard for PCs nowadays to be able to play this old classic game, and part of the reason I decided on a Switch was because Nintendo actually ported it when no one else would. Well, it was worth it.The gameplay is actually better.. believe it or not. The the simple change of moving the main character with the joystick and the crew follows made the game waaaaaay faster and smoother to play. You can still point and click with a simple press of a button, but moving around towns and through dungeons is so much quicker and more efficient on the Switch then ever on the PC.They even added a few small subtle details and item fixes that make the gameplay even smoother. Upping item piling dramatically was a huge relief (esp in BG1 when you could essentially only carry 60 arrows at a time, 20 each slot, now its 80 per slot, that's 240.. game changer), now you can go beyond 5 scrolls/potions and 20/40 ammo per slot, which gave me goosebumps when I discovered that (no lie).It can get a little buggy at times, but I haven't had any full on crashes yet and no lost data (PC versions can't say that...). It doesn't effect gameplay enough to consider it an issue though. It's even playable on the small screen without sacrificing too much visually. Although this does play way better on an actual TV. Once you go TV you probably wont wanna go back to the handheld size... obviously. I got this while on hold in a break in training and I played religiously on the handheld because I didnt have access to a tv, and I easily played halfway through BG1 and part way through BG2 with no issues or complaints. If you're new or a veteran to the BG series, this is a beautiful, immersive and well made port of a true classic.

Good stuff
The game is great if you like this sort of thing, isometric DnD simulation, the only videogame thing about it is the graphics other than that it is literally running on core dungeons and dragons rules. That said it has very many different difficulty settings to make things easier on you.The controls are definitely different but once you get ahold of it it's just second nature.I don't know if I'd advise this for casual gamers who are new to older Western RPGs, but I'd definitely say it is something to have if you like a good in-depth RPG that can be played on your switch, TV/handheld both look great.YesHave a good day lol

The Perfect Portable RPG
This is a legendary game and the transition to the Nintendo Switch feels absolutely flawless!Going from the old school original mouse and keyboard controls to a modern controller setup (of the Switch) left me quite curious and even somewhat apprehensive to play this version. However, I am relieved to say that the conversion felt very intuitive! The controls make sense and are clearly displayed on all menus and sub menus so you will be able to find everything you need and recall exactly what buttons bring up which commands. Being an old school gamer of the original boxed copies, I will say that it took me about 10 minutes (give or take) to adapt and then I felt very comfortable playing and quickly got immersed with the game play.I did make use the font size manipulation features and the added Nintendo Switch Lite Zoom features to make everything very easy on the old eyes. No need to squint to see anything on the small screen! It should be noted that these specific Baldurs Gate games are the most recent Enhanced Versions and , IMHO , they truly are the best versions of which to play enjoy these amazing old school RPG's.Again, the visuals all look great. The frame rate of everything in motion is absolutely spot on. Zoomed in or Zoomed out - the graphical integrity of this enhanced version of the original Infinity graphics engine hold up as beautifully as you will ever see them. Also, the colors pop and the graphics are sharp and pixel perfect on the smaller portable display of the Switch and this game has never looked better! Also, I am so glad to have this solid portable Nintendo Switch version and on the cart media since I know that the cart will last the test of time.As some other reviewers have noted, it's true that digital versions and the old boxed cd disc versions of these games could be acquired for a lower price. However, digital carriers of these games will not sell these games forever and original old boxed copies will eventually be obsolete completely to run on any computer, vintage or otherwise. So, IMHO, the simple convenience of having these games all on this nice small modern solid state cart make this product worth it as far as the value. In conclusion, I feel this is the best release of the game to own and if you own a Nintendo Switch then this game will absolutely make a worthy edition to your collection!

Great Games as Always!
The four stars are not for the game, they are Five all the way, it is more for the switch version. Many time i will be in the middle of the game about to start an attack or check the inventory and the game dies. I have fortunately I save often but there is the occasional time where i lose 30-40 mins of play time do to this. Otherwise it is great to have both games in one cartridge.

The graphics
I like this game. But I would like it better if the graphics and text size would have been better. The storyline is good but a struggle to read the print if you are just on a switch. Might be better on a tv.

Um grande clássico do fim dos anos 90
Seria ainda melhor se fizessem um remake no futuro.

Surprisingly decent port, and the best value for the entire Saga
I picked this up alongside the Icewind Dale/Planescape bundle because the alternative was full-price on the PS4, or easily 100+ on Steam. This is the best value for the Baldur's Gate Saga by far, and the games run surprisingly well on the Switch. There were a couple of crashes, but it's miraculous a 20+ year old computer RPG built for keyboard and mouse controls runs on the console at all, let alone as well as it does. You can import your save file from the first game to the second, and this bundle includes all DLC for both titles. The story is excellent; it's a role playing classic for a reason and if you can get past the art style aging like a block of cheese, you're in for a wonderful Dungeons and Dragons experience.
