This is perfect; great quality, and has NO indicators to make anyone suspicious. It is the size of an average "real" pen of that style so it does NOT seem different at all. Perfect for my teenagers when I'm gone. Perfect for my cheating husband to put in his car too. Love it!! There are VERY detailed instructions but NO "voice activation" instructions. I had searched online for videos on this exact product / brand but didn't find any (similar but not the same), and I even emailed the company who was of NO help at all!! I figured it out on my own so I HOPE THIS HELPS!To VOICE ACTIVATE it, simply turn the switch to "on", turn the volume up (you can't tell the settings on the volume so I just pushed mine 10 times and it's been perfect!). THEN push the "pen clicker" down, the subtle light will flash a few times and then NOT flash anymore (which if great!). THEN it is VOICE ACTIVATED. When you are done recording, just push the "pen clicker" again, and it saves it. Then plug into the computer and upload to listen. This is VERY good quality sound and VERY easy to use (I am not techie at all).** NOTE: for me, it has been fully charged in about 3 hours (when the light is solid blue, it's charged). However, when you charge it the light will illuminate so be sure to find an obscure / secret place or time of day to charge it! Also if the battery runs low, the light WILL go on so be sure to keep it charged! There is about 16 hours of "stand-by" voice activation time. Be sure to NOT put it in a place where things will bump it or rattle against it and do NOT put it in a place where it will roll around. I put this in our CLOSED "pen / junk drawer" at home and leave the drawer cracked a bit. It works perfectly. In the car, I put this in the glove compartment (tucked neatly so it doesn't move around) OR in the console **TIP: be sure to turn the bottom so the pen part actually comes out. YES it really does write. So if the kids or husband is in the car and need a pen, they can use it. My concern was that if they tried to write with it and then tried the "clicker", it wouldn't work so I didn't want them to (a) open it! or (b) throw it away.SIMILAR products show a clip that slides up and down (that's obvious to me... I mean, clips don't move!), and they also show a silver or gold inside (this one is black which is more inconspicuous), shows volume / other controls on the outside (again... obvious!), and also show a USB drive in the middle (once again... obvious!). THIS product has a tiny, black headphone jack in the middle that both charges it and uploads the audio to the computer. To charge this is via the included USB (which is a very short cord!) so don't lose it!THIS item looks 100% like any ordinary pen. My adult daughter has one and takes it to her job interviews to get the names of people she interviews with so she can sent personalized thank you cards afterwards. It also helped her keep track of the types of interview questions asked in her career field. My adult son takes it to church to record the sermon (he has a habit of falling asleep due to his narcolepsy) so he can listen later. My adult granddaughter records all the arguments and "serious talks" with her husband so that when he DENIES his "promises", she can remind him.As you can tell, there are many endless uses and I have purchased several. I am sure you will likely really love this!!!

I first saw an item like this advertised on Facebook and was very impressed by the possibilities and ordered one. After waiting on it for 3 weeks I checked Amazon and found this pen recorder. Ordered it and got it 3 days later. I think this says a lot for Amazon.I have found that the pen recorder works just like the ad on Amazon. I am very satisfied with it and recommend it.The pen comes in a very nice box that has all the essentials to do the job. What it does lack is a good manual with print large enough to read without a magnifying glass. Also, I use Windows 10 which supports the file format but I had to set it up through the Media Player as I am not much into music.Try it I think you will like it.
