I liked it because it was small and portable, so something large didn't need to be lugged around to accomplish the same purpose. It does what I bought it for and it stores nicely when I don't need it.

Great for attaching small lights, reflectors and flags. Works as designed.

using this clamp with the a extendable rod allows me to mount things in the middle of the room.

After 1 or 2 years use, the plastic will crumble like saltine crackers. I have repeatedly replaced this items realizing that the plastic is made of a low quality density plastic. Not worth buying. Best to purchase the item in some sort of metal such as aluminum.

These are great clamps for mounting a camera, Hero action camera, light source, or the HTC Vive lighthouses to any verticle or horizontal bar/pole at a great price! I got them for mounting the HTC Vive Lighthouses to the Task Tools T74500 81-Inch to 108-Inch Quick Support Rods (which I also bought from Amazon as well) for my Virtual Reality setup in my living room. I originally had the lighthouses attached with these clamps to a pair of photography softbox lighting tripods. They were able to clamp to those without any problem, but the footprint of the tripod on the floor was a bit much for being permanent. I went with the quick support rods to eliminate that footprint and clean up the setup a bit more. These clamps work perfectly for this purpose and I plan on order another couple of pairs to use in conjunction with the Neewer LED lighting panels that I bought.

The description said it would be good for mounting on anything as small as 10mm. I use a lot of standard 15mm NiceyRig-alike rods for various rigs and these clamp just dont work with that. Too lose. Returning the order.

Seemed well made upon first impression, but not very sturdy in real life. Wanted to use clamp to support small iPad on tripod leg. No go. Then tried to use it for selfie ring light. No go. Seems like you gotta go smaller and lighter still, if you really want to get some use out of it. I'd say 8 oz. to 12 oz. tops, for an item to be clamped, and even then, it's gotta be clamped close to the clamp itself. If your item extends out, away from the clamp, it'll put too much torque on the joint(s), and won't work well. Looks like clamp will be resigned to holding a small flashlight, for which it will do very well, just not what was hoped for its purchase.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I was going to settle for some kind of small tripod, but I'm glad that I held out and found the clamp that I wanted. I needed something to hold up a Foscam IP security camera so that it had a better vantage point. I was a little concerned that it might not be able to hold it, but it does a great job. I doubt it would be able to hold anything much heavier though.Pros:* Small size makes it easy to relocate* Easy to install* Very inexpensive, especially compared to some other tripod alternativesCons:* Not strong enough to hold anything heavier than a compact camera.
